When a pitcher throws a near perfect game, he would be remiss to not mention the catcher and acknowledge how much easier it is to pitch to a flawlessly called game. The catcher, on the other hand, would undoubtedly point out the greatness in the quality of the pitching. It is extraordinarily difficult to call a good game when the pitcher cannot execute his pitches or hit his target. Not sure why this is at all hard to understand.

Postscript to the thread…,
When Pages is behind the plate, the staff ERA is a full run lower than when Pozo or Herrera are catching.
Gray gave Pages the game ball for a reason.
