I know you are the self proclaimed smartest guy on here (you're not) but since we are cherry picking stats look at Burlys last 30 games played offensively and tell me that he doesn't deserve to be playing. And there ha e been some left handers in thst 30 games. I want Gorman playing also but if Donavon is going to play leftfield to make thst happen then Noot has to play center right now and I dont like that either. And Noot has been in a funk also. We need Burlys bat right now and when Walker gets back it will all sort out.Melville wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 13:13 pmCorrect.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 13:10 pmReally made no sense not keeping him in the lineup today and Burly on the bench.Melville wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 13:07 pmAgree that Barrero in place of Scott makes good sense.rockondlouie wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 10:57 am Thx duce
I like Oil giving VSII a breather today, kids in a horrible slump (Last 42 PA: .056 .171 .056 .226).
I'd have liked to have seen Norman rewarded w/a start at 2B (Donny in LF and Bison on the bench).
Hope we can give Kershaw yet another bad Cardinal memory before he hangs em' up.
GO CARDS!
Burleson is hitting .125 /.176 against LH pitching this year.
Gorman is .143 / .278.
And, as you correctly point out, Donovan is a far better defender in the outfield than Burleson is.
Also worth noting that Gorman not only won the game for STL yesterday - but is 7 for 15 (plus a walk) in his last 4 starts with a double, triple, and HR.
Someone posted Oli likes to sit a young player and let a guy like Gorman keep the "good feeling/taste" after a good game like he had yesterday.
I think that's idiotic, keep the "hot" bat in there and see if they can build on it.
There's nothing like facing live pitching to keep you sharp.

Gorman has been proving of late that if he is giving consistent opportunity, he will produce.
But he is another key point.
If Burleson was on the bench, he would be available to PH against a RH at a key point in the game - and is his skill set is better suited for that situation than Gorman's is.
Bottom line.
The Marmot continues to make very strange lineup decisions.
each with a 102 or better EV
might as well give him a tryMonsieur De Treville wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 13:23 pm Just got off the golf course and see we Barrero in the lineup once again. I 'spose when you have a prospect as highly rated as this kid, you gots to play him! Right?!?!?
Absolutely! As long as one of these potential stars is in the lineup, I'm happy!82birds wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 13:24 pmmight as well give him a tryMonsieur De Treville wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 13:23 pm Just got off the golf course and see we Barrero in the lineup once again. Vilade is horrible
He hasn't played in days. The other guy from Memphis stunk so he should get a day in the lineup.Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 13:23 pm Just got off the golf course and see we Barrero in the lineup once again. With lefty Kershaw on mound, Oli prefers right bat Barrero over lefty Scott IIMonsieur De Treville wrote: ↑08 Jun 2025 13:23 pm Just got off the golf course and see we Barrero in the lineup once again. I 'spose when you have a prospect as highly rated as this kid, you gots to play him! Right?!?!?

But be careful, the Oli bandwagoners are coming out of the woodwork.
