Not a big fan of trading Helsley, but if someone's closer goes down, his value may be greater than ever.

So....stating it was “irresponsible” NOT to deal him is a joke.
If coming off his great season they would have dumped him in a bad deal CT would be marching on Busch with torches and pitchforks like in Frankenstein!
Yep. He was on the block and nobody offered enough, so hang on to him. The thread is a huge pile of fresh, steaming dog poop....as is it's author.
Another troll posting without accountability.
Maybe he’ll enlighten us tomorrow with the potential trades that were turned down?

Burly.
LOL

I think Maton could probably put up similar numbers to Helsley but the question then becomes who replaces Maton in a set up role and how good is the minor leaguer we would bring up? Unless we get another MLB level relief pitcher in return we will replace Helsley with a minor leaguer and with the team being in contention that could could be a problem.

This great success has blinded us from our original objective of sell. The plan was to play the young and see who can play and who can endure the 162 grind.

Then cut and add a bat or Ace, one bot the other.

Problem. Success has hastened he expectations. Still must follow the plan. A couple key additions to this group will create a force in the NL. Next year.

Its Mo's job to do what he seldom can do. Take some asset the cardinals have, and convert it to what they need. He has really been abysmal at that, and that is one of the biggest parts of the GMs job. Franchise record, MLB saves leader....converted to.....nope. too difficult.. Mo doesnt get paid minimum wage, but that is the lowly expectation some put on his performance.

All of the cucks who defended losing Helsley in free agency after this season are awfully quiet today.
