Three weeks! That's your barometer? Dumb.
Career:
Contreras - OPS - 810; .458 slugging % / speed / 14.6 RBI/AB
Bison - OPS - .715; .404 slugging % / no speed / 11.6 RBI/AB

OK. Maybe, I'm watching at the wrong time. But I haven't seen much out of Contreras lately. At least not the slugging expected out of a cleanup hitter. Sorry, I'm not buying the "speed" thing.
If I played for $100K would that make ME the best player?Shady wrote: ↑26 May 2025 16:35 pmYou're the stats guy. How has the approx 18M guy compared to the approx 800k guy in the last three weeks?Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑26 May 2025 14:33 pmMe too. I guess he will never hit 1000? I guess a 200 RBI season is out of the question?Shady wrote: ↑26 May 2025 14:31 pmWish Contreras could have delivered a clutch 2 out hit to get the Cardinals a lead in the first.Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑26 May 2025 14:23 pmEven after his slow start, he still leads the team in RBI!Shady wrote: ↑26 May 2025 14:07 pmI like Contreras. I just wish he didn't strike out so often. And I'd like more clutch RBIs from him.Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑26 May 2025 14:06 pmThe evidence has always supported this...but...you tend to ignore evidence.Shady wrote: ↑26 May 2025 14:05 pmThe evidence supports Contreras being faster than Burleson. Be proud !Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑26 May 2025 14:02 pmWell Shady, you recently posted that you weren't convinced Contreras was faster than Burly. Are you still not convinced or will you concede that you were wrong?Shady wrote: ↑26 May 2025 13:44 pmClassicO wrote: ↑26 May 2025 11:47 amSprint speed isn't everything, but here's the Cards' top to bottom.Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑26 May 2025 11:39 amHerrera actually runs pretty good and Contreras runs everything out
Of the 13 players now on the Cards and in the everyday lineup, Contreras is 4th and Herrera 6th in sprint speed.
Yes, Burly is last, behind Pozo.

Sure wish Burleson could run like Saggese.ClassicO wrote: ↑26 May 2025 11:47 amSprint speed isn't everything, but here's the Cards' top to bottom.Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑26 May 2025 11:39 amHerrera actually runs pretty good and Contreras runs everything out

And he doesn't strike out that often. More facts...during his career he has struck out 24.1%. The MLB AVERAGE is 22.4%.
What aren't you buying? Contreras has always been known as a very fast runner for a catcher. As numerous posters have proven to you...Contreras is much faster than Burly even though he's 6 or 7 years older.Shady wrote: ↑26 May 2025 16:54 pmOK. Maybe, I'm watching at the wrong time.
