Patience will pay huge dividends with Walker.
Did I hear 117 MPH off the bat on his double?
What you didn't hear was how poorly Gurriel misplayed it
He didn't misplay it...it was a 113 shot into the gap. Gurriel dove to try and stop it, but only got a piece of it.
That ball was legitimately crushed!
No he didn't dive he stumbled and fell on his (donkey)

he's a terrible OFer

Yay.
Now when he gets over .250, I’ll capitalize.

Which stat is more important in the next month to you ? ( and you cannot pick BOTH lol)
Is it his batting average 30 days from now ? or how many RBI he gets in those 30 games ?

Really
After reading some of these comments I went back and watched the replay.
Say whatever you want but Walker smoked that ball and it was in the clutch!
Did not have the benefit of slow motion so I couldn’t tell if that ball skipped on Gurriel or not to get by him?
But either way it was SMOKED and I didn’t see it as being catchable.
To add to it he ripped the game winner later.
The Gurriel comments made me laugh.

Something seriously wrong with that dude.
JWalk, on the other hand ... if that kid can start to unlock what is clearly there. This team would be dangerous.
Gorman, on yet another hand, needs to be in Memphis. His attitude after swinging straight through 3 pitches in his final Friday AB said it all. He's toast right now.

We need two bats and an Ace in the reset. The team may think they have one of them in Herrea. If Walker is the second bat, all monies go to that Ace. Not only do we compete in 2026, we may be formidable, which would be a year early.

Can never have enough pitching...
But....
Could Libby be an ace? 2.73 era. 1.01 WHIP. 51 K's with only 8 BB.

I think the starting lineup is set. 6 draft picks, 1 international signing, 1 trade in Arenado and 1 FA in Contreras. Could we get an All-Star power hitting catcher somewhere?
Bernie believes Libby may be the best pitcher in baseball. Can he keep it up.
