Absolutely, same. What a game. That was such a pro-style CHL game. Probably should be the Final but Medicine Hat is very good.

Dickinson vs. McKenna on Tuesday. They could be teammates in a year+ if the Sharks get the #1 overall pick next year.

I also wonder which player @Balotelli thinks the Hawks are going to take, I want them to take Hagens but they will probably take Desnoyers which is bad for us. I would rather the Hawks took Frondell I think. The fact that Chi 3 Utah 4 is very bad that this player will be in our division because I want the Blues to acquire him someday.

For me Schaefer, Misa, Frondell, Desnoyers, Martone are all ahead of him for sure. I could see some question marks with Hagens, Eklund and McQueen. Martin is a Philly type player and if they miss out on Martone maybe they take him.

Pretty good game 3 yesterday, London wore Rimouski down over time, but the home team is excellent on defense and in net. Both goalies were so strong yesterday, it's a 6pm central start for Moncton/Medicine Hat tonight.

Brzustewicz scored the first goal for London and he is having a showcase out there.

Do any of ya’s have an opinion on Dman Peyton Kettles? He looks to have some potential, while being a strapping young behemoth lad. Could he go as high as the 2nd? 3rd? I hate not havin premium picks, altho at least this time it was well worth it to get Broberg and Holloway.

Anyhoo, Is Kettles someone to keep an eye on? Or do ya’ll think there’s not enough there…there?

I didn’t follow him much. My process this year was that since the Blues only had their 1st and then a 5th & 6th, I really only focused on guys projected to go in the first round. Then saw others along the way, many on teams I’d be watching for someone else primarily, but my viewing wasn’t as wide or as extensive this season. But I saw Kettles a couple times. Big kid. Doesn’t seem to bring that’d catch your attention but that doesn’t mean he’s not good. It’s just hard to evaluate defensive d-men, especially on video IMO. On video, the play is usually zoomed in and you oftentimes don’t see a lot of the little details d-men do as they’re often off screen. Let’s say the winger breaks. Do they make a read and fall back and to the center to counter that or do they react late? Do they keep a good gap or allow the rushing posing forwards way too much time and space? You can see that live but it’s oftentimes hard to see on video. This is all the more true when it comes to evaluating defensive d-men as they’re not flashy.

Kettles seem like the type that’ll go in the 2nd round. Maybe 3rd. He’s right handed and big so those 2 things alone will get him drafted relatively high. I haven’t paid much attention to him specifically though but that sort of projection for him makes sense IMO.

I watched him a few times because he is a draft eligible 6'5"+ RHD with a very late birthday, one of the youngest in his class. But I did not see anything that stood out besides the size in my handful of viewings. He dropped from 26 at mideason to 39 in the final rankings, so he is a likely second rounder.

I called Hagens dropping out of the top 5, months ago, for this exact reason ...

At barely 5-foot-11 and without a physical edge, his profile becomes harder to project as a top-line NHL center who you can win with. His compete level is decent and looked good at the World Juniors, but I wouldn’t call it a standout trait.

If Hagens turns into the most offensively productive player from this class, I wouldn’t be shocked, and frankly, I would call him the most purely talented offensive player in the class. But winning in the NHL is about more than scoring. Several players — such as Misa and potentially Anton Frondell, Desnoyers or Martone — may go ahead of Hagens simply because the profile they project as (bigger, two-way players, most as centers) is more valuable to NHL teams than a dynamic, scoring small player who may or may not be an NHL center.

Bzustewicz mentions "Cam Allen" as a key player for London. I looked him up, and the Capitals already found him.

London had lots of chances but they didn’t take as much advantage on the 6 on 4 as they should have IMO. Or the 6 on 5 with one of the Tigers w/o a stick. Wasted so much time in the scrum in the corner.

Ryder Ritchie has been very good this tournament.

My guess is London beats the winner of Moncton-Rimouski and we get these same 2 teams in the Final.

Ozzy’s best friend, Jake Neighbours, learned the basics of sign language because he didn’t like seeing Kim excluded from conversations.

So, during road trips with the Buffs midgets, Neighbours got Ozzy to give him a crash course in signing.

“When he learned it, I think we became a lot closer, too,” said Ozzy. “Not just me, but to everyone in my family, really. We’ve never had anyone who really wanted to learn and actually put in the time. He can talk to my mom just fine now. It’s really cool to see.”

Neighbours, who lives in Calgary and plays for WHL Edmonton, says being able to communicate was the right thing to do. “It just makes everyone’s life a little bit easier.”

Dave Cowan, who represents the boys for O2K Worldwide Management Group, calls Neighbours an honorary Wiesblatt brother. “He’s probably the best thing that could ever happen to the family, in terms of having a kid that’s right alongside Ozzy,” Cowan said. “His mind is in the right spot. Takes care of the boys. Drives them to workouts. Takes them everywhere. He is essentially an extension of their brothership.”
