But they are very much in the minority. The majority being loyal fans who “vent” on occasion.
Sadly I have done that more often than I care to admit.

I am not a hater. I just like clean, crisp, error free baseball. When the team was on the good run a while back they played very clean ball. Moved runners, got sac flies, aggressive, but clean baserunning, great D.... They have been lucky lately because they have made a lot of errors, like Gorman being picked off second, and gotten away with it during this streak because the teams they have played have given them some games. Of course I enjoy them winning, and NO, I am not mad because the won the wrong way or anything silly like that. But the ship is pretty loose right now and needs to tighten up if they hope to make the playoffs. Winn not running out the grounder, Gorman picked off, players looking at strike three in key spots without even trying to protect the plate, missing signs, etc.... These are things that need to be corrected or they will lose games. Those of us who point things out are still fans and want the team to win, but calling out poor fundamental play and wanting it corrected doesn't make us haters. Rant over....

This is why I am not a Marmol fan. He needs to be in the ear of the team about fundamental play and it seems he laughs things off or make excuses or whatever. He needs to tighten things up. That is why they hired Shildt. It is clear this group can play tighter baseball. They have. They need to get back to it. This team can exceed expectations, but they have to play pretty much error free ball to do it. Two strike approach, moving runners, NOT getting picked off on stupid plays. Sure, guys get picked off first now and then leaning the wrong way. OK, fine, it happens. Getting picked off second on a throw from the catcher in a key situation? Seriously? The stuff cannot happen. Watching strike three by guessing rather than digging in and guarding the plate in a key situation? OK, once. But several times in a few game stretch? Someone needs to get in that player's ear. That stuff cannot be a pattern. Now I will be labelled an Oli hater... whatever....

I was never a hater. Just someone that evaluates the team fairly. I thought this team was certain to lose 90 games before the season. So this season has been a pleasant surprise so far.
