do you think he can be fixed? His swing...not his _____
Yes. He's still extremely young. I'm hoping one day it just clicks! Look at the turnaround Libby has made at age 25. Still hope...
Ones a pitcher and ones a hitter. What's the toughest thing to do in sports? Hot a baseball. Also, LH pitchers progress slower
What’s the toughest thing in sports- score a hockey goal. And hitting a baseball.
Golf is the hardest sport. As Sam Snead once told Ted Williams...golfers have to play their foul balls!
What a great quote. Gotta remember that one.

Agree...but...I remember the Cards giving up too soon on Jose Cruz & Andy Van Slyke...they eventually matured into star players.
Andy van Slyke seemed to do well here for several years before Pittsburgh. I don’t recall why we traded him, but I’m betting contract was in play.

Yes forgot golf. Maybe the toughest. Tennis??
No, Van Slyke's best season in St. Louis was a .270 BA with 13 HR and 61 RBI. His career took off in Pittsburgh where he became an All Star and had WAR seasons of over 5 & 6.

The conversation went kinda like this...

Williams: how tough can golf be? The ball is just sitting there.

Snead: yes, but we have to play our foul balls!

1500 hits. 165 homeruns. 46 plus war. Good arm, fairly fast. Wasn’t he and Bonds team mates for several years.

the Players should wear promotional jerseys like this when we face Pitt and Skenes is on the mound

4 losses on his record belong to St. Louis...Denton says he only has 7 losses, we are responsible for 4 of them
I believe Skenes ERA vs us is 2.50 and he is 0-4.

John Denton
@JohnDenton555
Nolan Arenado has been scratched from today's lineup and Nolan Gorman will start at third base for the #STLCards. No reason given yet by the club for Arenado's absence.

Willson Contreras moves up to the cleanup spot, Alec Burleson hits fifth and Gorman hits sixth.
