inconsistent defense. Backs up into the OF on 2 hoppers to 3b then airmails the throw way over 1b, forgets to cover 2b. Makes an occassional good play to sorta make up for it. Not sure what his position actually is though.

Saggese's best position is probably 2b. 2b is obviously easiernthan ss and while 3b can be easier than 2b, i think saggese lacks the arm strength for some of the long throws.

trouble is, we have 4 2bmen once JJ is ready for the majors. And a pretty decent SS. Too much MI, none of them have hit at that MVP level that we should want at 1B (and hopefully at 3b)

Well, donovan is solid defensively as an outfielder and if walker doesnt start hitting, donovan might have to move there more often as we dont have a lot of mlb ready outfield prospects.

Trouble is he still hits like a middle infielder. A good one average wise, but few HRs. We need power from the corners going into 26 and beyond to truly compete, which is why I think a trade will be in order sooner or later.

Donovan hits above league average ops for an outfielder in his career(im not basing off this year) He isnt a star there other than this year which he likely doesnt maintain, but we are weak in the outfield and hes the best we have. Problem is that we really lack any superstar hitters and we get significantly less from 1b so far and from dh which usually ends up being one of our weakest positions instead of strongest.

But despite expectations, corner outfield isnt the elite slugging fest it used to be and middle infield actually isnt the light hitting fest it used to be either

Judge, Hernandez, Churio, Tucker, Carroll all have 6-9 HRs and average 25 RBIs among them - in a month. No, not every team has a slugging corner OFer at the moment, but we need to become one that does. We don't have a CY type ace that will throw shutouts.
