So reading a few posters suggesting that Oli be fired due to 1-9 road record. Ok so he is 8-4 at home. Does that mean he is bad manager on road but very good home at Busch ?
So when FO calls him in saying 1-9 is unacceptable does Oli counter with well
8-4 at home should get me an extension. Lol
OR. Since I have a 2 out of 3 winning pace at home, I should manage all the home games and designate one of my coaches Descalso or Jay? To manage the road games.
Going to ridiculous extreme, what if Manager goes 0-81 on road and 81-0 at home…. a.500 manager. Does he get fired?
The fans went to Busch and watched winning games every single night. Walked away smiling, happy, cheering.
No playoffs but undefeated at home.
Would owner fire or keep that guy ?
Would fans attend winning every home game or stay away for they lose on road?

I am calling on Marmol to be fired because he's a bad manager and has been for years.ramfandan wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 09:34 am So reading a few posters suggesting that Oli be fired due to 1-9 road record. Ok so he is 8-4 at home. Does that mean he is bad manager on road but very good home at Busch ?

Re: Fire Marmol
Marmol is clinging to a 'winning' W-L record of 256 wins- 253 losses . If the team continues on its present path, Oli loses the 'winning' record tag.
Most would say that a +3 wins over losses is not much of a winner .

Re: Fire Marmol
To me, there's bad, and then there's horrendous
We may not be the Rockies or White Sox yet, but it definitely feels like we are slowly sinking down there to their level
This team never was and in no way should have been thought to be in any world series conversation, but there really is no reason for this garbage play on the road and being about to go 9-15 now. Absolutely no way they should be doing that bad.
The manager can't control all games, but when a team is badly underperforming and showing to be badly coached and blowing any leads period, I'd say you can definitely blame them for that. Injuries aren't helping, but the mentality of this team is bad, and if it doesn't improve, I'd say yes, go ahead and send the manager out the door and get the job opening posted immediately so we can be the first for candidate interviews.

Re: Fire Marmol
Marmol should be fired simply because he sucks. 3 wins over .500 thanks to 2022. He didn't have to do anything that season. Goldschmidt was the MVP. Arenado was 3rd in MVP. Pujols was magical. Yadi ran the pitching staff. The pud? He just sat there looking like a dumb turtle.
He was so pathetic, his coaching staff all left after that season. And the bench coach hire took a good look and said "I'm outta here".
Get Mo out of the way and hire a manager that knows his (donkey) from a hole in the ground.

Re: Fire Marmol
It would seem a legitimate question would be - WHY would you keep Marmot as manager - tomorrow, next week, next month, etc?
Major issue is pretending your in a reset and see what the 'youngsters" will provide as way of performance. Yet you have an incompetent manager, pitching coach, game strategist, etc. These people are going to evaluate talent? Failed process from the get go.
