Take last nite, they were sodden, hung-over, whatever, but once they burnt that off in the 3rd, back to puck possession, o-zone dominance, pucks in holes. They are also now shooting w/ confidence, taking that extra part-second to see the hole and shoot it. They picked apart Mountambeault, solved the hick goalie as well, when it counted.

That's the team that Doug built.

See Bro see hole. See Bro shoot hole. See Bro score goal. Go Bro go ! (this was the basic theme of my 1st grade reader, but it applies, as in many things in life, to the NHL). :)

Let's see how Army's next crop of talent stacks up to what other GM's landed. I'm very skeptical based on what I've seen so far.
Back to my original post a couple of weeks ago, re I would rather have 2 of Robert Thomas AND 2 of Jordan Kyrou for very close to the same money as having 1 Conor McDavid and 1 Leon Draisaitl. "Smellin the green grASS" persisted in twisting the subject and trying to incorrectly tell others what they were saying, and finished with his, "Would rather have McDavid than Kryou."
Well, no kidding Mr. Obvious...no argument that Conor McDavid could quite possibly be THE most skilled player in the history of the game -- I would rather have that too! But the logic, as I clearly stated, is for the money spent, having more lines to defend against and better balance throughout is more valuable.
Read this story which was published after the fact: --https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/mc ... ers-alone/

And Genius is not selecting a primadonna as Captain. Childish temper tantrums, sobbing like a baby in the locker room, cussing and yelling at your teammates is NOT leadership. I would rather have Brayden Schenn as my Captain...note that the Captain of the Oilers during their last Stanley Cup Championship was drafted in the 3rd Round. And of course he Captained the Rangers to their first Stanley Cup Championship in 46 years. That's leadership.

So you like Schenn, eh? So do I.

Schenn was drafted fifth overall by the Los Angeles Kings.

So how are the Blues going to get more Schenn's in the future?

The same way they got Schenn? Trade for them.

Wow. That's sounds so sexy and fun for the city. How did you feel about Army trying to dump Schenn at the trade deadline this year, like ROR a couple of years ago? Goodwill loves it. Every 2 years, there will be a big dump of Blues player jerseys as yesterday's star leaves town.

It amazes me that Blues fans think that "trading for players" is going to be a reliable way to find the best players on the team. I see way more trades that we lost than we ever won.

Show me published proof that happened. All I have seen is rumors posted on this forum.
Sexy and fun has nothing to do with. Results are what count. What you see may not be what others see and doesn't necessarily make you right.

Grab them from teams that can't manage their cap!

So how many other teams rely on "trading for their best players" instead of acquiring them high in the draft?

All that I want for St Louis is the same NHL excitement and fun that other cities enjoy.
