Re: Bolduc's Potential
If he can be a perennial 30 goal, 60 point guy, that'll work.
Re: Bolduc's Potential
Funny you mention this. I was thinking of Nelson Emerson as a comp as well. Can totally see that.SameOldBlues wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 21:34 pmSeriously? He’s not even in the same stratosphere as Shanny, and Ive been a Bolduc fan from the beginning.StLouis-4Life2 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 12:52 pm Now that Bolduc is showing some grit, I'm trying to figure out who would be a good comparison for his high end potential. Only one I can think of that would throw checks, have a really strong mid range shot but still be able to get some clean up goals around the net is Shannahan. Do the rest of you see him as having the potential to be a left handed Shannahan?
If he becomes a 50 to 60 point a year player, Ill take it with a smile.
He has a little Nelson Emerson in him. Emerson had the occasional grit like Bolduc shows, while being finesse, like I see Bolduc being.

More like Stephane Richer; and his skating style is very similar as well.StLouis-4Life2 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 12:52 pm Now that Bolduc is showing some grit, I'm trying to figure out who would be a good comparison for his high end potential. TTT for research purposes
Re: Bolduc's Potential
Would not be surprised if he thrives in Montreal. That still doesn't mean it was a bad trade, that needs to be judged from the Blues perspective.

From a hawks fan?
Might as well just cool your jets and wait and see what the trade means and it's going to take time.
I hated losing Bolduc as much as any one including you but that doesn't mean jack schmidt right now.
Have some faith in DA or don't but this trade is not and will not be decided on the internet.

I don’t think it’ll be decided next season either…..dhsux wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 22:40 pmFrom a hawks fan?

Might be 2-3 years but I’m OK with that.
Re: Bolduc's Potential
I would say that is a result of pretty favorable matchups and zone starts but yeah still not good.

I agree.Bubble4427 wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 22:59 pmI don’t think it’ll be decided next season either…..dhsux wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 22:40 pmFrom a hawks fan?

I am very nervous about this trade on the face of it but again.......left knowing it's a solid group that has done the homework is somewhat reassuring regarding the present stat and performance comparison between the two players.

Re: Bolduc's Potential
The only bad thing (and I know you get this) is that whether he thrives or fails in Montreal is zero indication of what would have happened here. If Montreal puts him on a line with Suzuki and he goes off and scores 40 goals, or if he blows out his knee and never plays again, it doesn't mean it was going to happen here.
IMO - The only thing that determines if this is a good trade for the Blues is how Mailloux performs.

Mailloux could be a stud and those RD are rare for sure.
I do think that he will not look pretty next season and things could be down right ugly at times…. It that is what it takes to groom a young defenseman in this league. The hope the majority of fans understand this and remain patient.

I just wanna see him fight once, stick up for himself, be hard on his stick and be blue collar to start.Bubble4427 wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 14:46 pmI like the deal because I understand the risk.dhsux wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025 08:18 amI agree.Bubble4427 wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 22:59 pmI don’t think it’ll be decided next season either…..dhsux wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 22:40 pmFrom a hawks fan?

That would be nice
