Are you generating these with AI?
You're capturing the real him. Brilliant!

It's funny to watch a team like the Islanders going about their business; they basically have the same failing team for the last 10yrs now. and Apparently they want to re-up 33yr old Brock Nelson.

I was thinking they might buy Joe.
Joe Momma. I hear she's for sale.

The Blues are in a unique position where by being sellers, they can improve the team in both the near and long term. They have an abundance of depth-type players teams look for at the deadline. Replace them with Dvorsky, Snuggerud, Stenberg et al. They also have guys like MacMac at Springfield that could cover some minutes. If they could move a Leddy, a Texia, that would be very good.

Having a bunch of young players/rookies step in for veterans doesn’t translate to success on a team like this.Red7 wrote: ↑28 Feb 2025 11:01 am The Blues are in a unique position where by being sellers, they can improve the team in both the near and long term. And the blues situation is not unique at all.

Re: We are getting close to buyers territory
I would shop Kyrou. I wouldn't trade him for a 1st round pick but I would for a player his age or younger that brings a bit more grit, like a Sam Bennett if you could sign him for 5 or 6 years. Ideally the player would be 26 or under and still be a 20 goal scorer.
I know Kyrou has improved but I just think if you're trying to build a winner that can win a cup that Kyrou isn't that player. Last night he was benched in the 3rd while the team is fighting for their lives.
I'd also try and upgrade Sunny. I know he just had a 3 point game but I think more often than not he's outmatched on the ice. Mostly too slow.
I would definitely be on the phone with Ottawa to see what it would take to land Brady. I would think an offer of Kyrou and Jake would be a good starting point.

Brady Tkachuk would require a young home run as a starting point. The Blues don’t have one to offer. The trade you propose makes them worse now and in the future:Bluesfan1978 wrote: ↑28 Feb 2025 11:14 am I would definitely be on the phone with Ottawa to see what it would take to land Brady. Maybe it would take more. You are getting 50 goals a season from Kyrou and Jake. Maybe more. Kyrou would be signed for several years at a reasonable deal. Jake gives them some of the physical play Brady does and they are both young. If they weren’t interested I’d probably look elsewhere.

After years of mediocrity, they're finally playing well enough to contend for a playoff spot. They're not moving their captain, certainly not at the deadline.Bluesfan1978 wrote: ↑28 Feb 2025 11:35 am Maybe it would take more. You are getting 50 goals a season from Kyrou and Jake. Maybe more. If they were to move Brady in the offseason, it'd have to be at his request. I'd have to think Kyrou, Neighbours, and a pick would come close - though they might prefer something other than two wingers coming back. I'd also rather not trade Neighbours, who is exactly the kind of greasy-goal-scorer teams need in the playoffs especially.

There’s no maybe. That trade makes them worse and would require a young home run.Bluesfan1978 wrote: ↑28 Feb 2025 11:35 am Maybe it would take more.
