Herzog would have won this game 3-1. Oli is just brutal at in game management.

This team needs a new manager or the 27 Yankees to come back to life in Cardinals uniforms.
What did the manager have to do with the loss?

18 straight scoreless innings vs the Pirates. Let that sink in.

Get outperformed by a last place collection of stiffs.
Can’t run the bases
Can’t bunt runners over
Can’t make decent contact in the clutch
Only consolation? Pallante didn’t somehow get a loss.
And Pozo in the clutch!

lol, meatball right down the middle for the first pitch to Donny and he just watches it.
Does ANYONE on this team protect the plate with 2 strikes?
Gawd these guys are pathetic.
36 straight scoreless innings against the NLC with 1 - 13 with RISP and couldn't even score on their 1 hit. PATHETC
The answer would be no.
Had the right guy up. Can’t stand there and watch the game end.
Sadly that is modern baseball.
Everyone is pretty a guess hitter.
Noot is the worst. And he wet the bed per usual in a late situation.
Can’t lose these types of games to garbage teams.

I agree with the TV guys that Fermin got a good jump. However, from the angle behind the plate looking up the third base line, I don’t think he got a good lead…by 2 or 3 steps. Painful painful loss. Only good thing is we get to play the next one quick, maybe wash the taste of this one out of our mouths. Win that one then take 2 of 3 from the Cubs (at least)…time for this road trip to be a net positive.
This lineup is not going to score a lot of runs. Losing Herrera and Contreras and also without Arenado…they’re the best run producers we have. Sigh.

In 2 years, we will be the worst team in the central. I hope Mo and Dewitt choke on each others junk

Nothing. Oli was not the issue. The offense is just not hitting in Pittsburgh.

Burleson does, he will swing at anything with two strikes.

Warner is an imbecile.
Hopefully Bloom pulls the plug on him and Oli?

No they won't. Once Mo's (donkey) rides out of Busch, a sensible roster will be constructed. They'll be hovering closer to first than last.
