billybaseball wrote: 10 Apr 2025 16:49 pm We do not have any restrictions in the 2026 draft. We did not pay into revenue sharing in 2024 and will not be in 2025. So the restrictions for teams paying into revenue sharing doesn't apply. The restrictions for teams receiving revenue sharing also doesn't apply because we lost the lottery in 2024 and picked 7th. The 7th pick is not a lottery pick. So the rule where revenue sharing recipients cannot recieve a lottery pick three years in a row also does not apply.
Crav read this
Revenue sharing in question is based off 2023...the Angels and the Cards were Payors that season. When the Lottery was held in December 2024, the 2024 Revenue Sharing wasn't used or known. We're in penalty b/c 2023 Rev. Sharing and Winning the Lottery.

the 2 in a row thing is for Receivers...which doesn't pertain to us.
The 2026 draft goes off of 2024 revenue not 2023.

I would like to have this disagreement settled. I think it will be important for the 2026 draft.

Thank you for your intelligent input.

To be honest I'm not 100% sure how it works and I literally just read the whole Revenue sharing plan in the CBA. I'm pretty sure that if the Cardinals lost their Revenue Payee status in 2024 then they should be eligible to recieve a lotto pick. The only teams that are disqualified are teams with a market score over 100 and we are nowhere near that. I know that they paid around 20m in Revenue sharing for the 23' season but that info isn't public yet for 2024. So I'd imagine they lost over 20m in revenues in 2024 so they should be a net Payee not a payor

Official 2024 revenues just dropped and I was very much wrong about all of this. Cardinals will remain Payors so even if my theory was right it doesn't matter. 10th oa pick in 2026 it is :(

same game....LHP Liam Doyle went 8 1/3 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 14 K's...wouldn't mind him at #5 if he keeps pitching like this and last week

in his 2nd game back, 1st AB of the day vs. #6 Ole Miss, he hits his 11th HR of the year.

it's like he didn't miss 3 weeks worth of games at all...just picks up where he left off.

Not sure. He’s had some aches and pains in his shoulder this year. Has lacked his usual pinpoint control

I agree with Call to the Pen. It's a very weak college bat draft. And very heavy at the top with pitching.

https://calltothepen.com/first-round-20 ... rms-rise/1

Aiva Arquete, SS/2B, Oregon State

https://www.baseball-reference.com/regi ... quet000aiv BR page for stats

--------

I expect the Top 20 will become even more crowded with pitching as we approach summer. I expect Liam Doyle, Patrick Forbes, Kade Anderson, Pico Kohn to all make a good argument for inclusion.

It was good see Kyson Witherspoon get that much love ....it was unexpected. I guess the pundits and their mocks may be taking the more serious/focused approach. It's about time.

also....Seattle is my chief concern with Seth Hernandez being drafted before us. They'll take a HS pitcher every day of the week and stick him in their R&D and Lab/ The other teams usually/never pick HS pitchers in recent (3-5 years, or have different strats)

This mock realizes this and drafts him at #3.

Lots of shortstops. How do Doyle and Arnold compare as collegiate LH pitchers?

There's 3-4 weeks left in the regular season, depending on your conference. Then there's your Conference Tourney, Regionals, Super Regionals and CWS....About 7 weeks left. Then about 4-7 weeks till the draft, depending on your teams post season success.

Here's my Top 10 Draft Board:
Enjoy

1. Jamie Arnold, LHP, FSU
2. Seth Hernandez, RHP, Corona HS, Calif.
3. Ethan Holliday, Stillwater HS, Okla.
4. Gavin Kilen, 3B/2B/SS, Tennessee
5. Kyson Witherspoon, RHP, Oklahoma
6. Liam Doyle, LHP, Tennessee
7. Billy Carlson, SS, Corona HS, California
8. Kade Anderson, LHP, LSU
9. Eli Willits, SS, Ft. Cobb-Broxton, Okla.
10. Pico Kohn, LHP, Miss. State

Note, this isn't a mock, it's a Draft Board....what I consider the Best Available Players

What are your thoughts, what does your draft board or wish list look like?
