Oli, "
we had some decent swings". Note to Oli, no you didn't.
He actually said that?
Delusional.
If you asked me right now which I would take:
1) Barely make the playoffs and keep Oli?
Or
2) Barely miss the playoffs and can Oli(and Pop!)?
I vote for #2
Not sure which is worse?
His arrogance or his lack of intelligence?
I'm not usually a big "Oli sucks" guy, because he's been given a poor roster in many respects. BUT the fact they've now set up their pitching rotation so that their best pitcher won't face the Cubs twice in a week is gross negligence.
agree, desertrat

I see that Cards Talk is in its usual uproar after a bad series. The offense, which is thin on talent anyway, goes in the tank and it's the managers fault. What a silly outlook. The doom and gloom bunch are losing it and it's comical. Its a long season. It was a terrible series that followed a very good series. The Mets were also swept by this bunch and most of you think they are pretty good. The Pirates have good pitching. Its baseball. It looks worse, but the end result is that being shut out three games has no different result than being swept in three games. You dont get docked more points in the standings.
They have played much better than expected this year. I think they are outplaying their talent level. They might come back to earth. They might not. They are a tired and beat up bunch right now with very thin backup choices. The next couple of weeks will likely show us the direction they will go.

Well if you’re correct and they are out playing their talent level then it’s not doom and gloom it’s just expecting them to start playing at their talent level and not above it

With this bunch it’s almost always the same thing that goes wrong. When they are winning, the whole lineup is hitting to all fields and not over swinging. When they are on a losing streak like this pitiful series, they are trying to pull everything and looking to hit nothing but dingers. I’d put Winn back at the 9th spot until he decided he wants to be a table setter again. I’m sick and tired of watching him flail away at EVERYTHING! With the lead off doubles in this game the next batters didn’t make an attempt to advance the runners. Winn struck out and Pages popped out, both players trying to pull the ball. Obviously this is on the players, but when it continues it’s on the Manager for not addressing it ! Oli says “ we took some good swings” he wouldn’t know a good swing if one hit him upside the head!
Gorman is back to pulling off everything, he’ll never learn either!

He is such a loser
What exactly constitutes a “decent swing”???
I could go up there and take my rips. Would that constitute a decent swing? LOL
SMH
I couldn't hit major league pitching on my best day, but I think I could take good swings...and miss.
Exactly
Grip it and rip it!
Thank God I never watch the postgame interviews.

This team plays over its head from time to time. The bottom line they cannot sustain good play. They .500 at the very best.
