I love the way this team has added on runs tonite. Phillies pitchers are worn out.
The Phillies manager has done a terrible job by letting his pitchers give up runs.
Noticed the crowd is 'worn out' 'too. Don't remember Philly fans bailing on their team like tonight. This past inning saw young kids in the prime boxes that obviously moved down from the cheaper seats .

5 series wins in their last 6 series with the other one being a 4 game road split with Cincy.
Since beginning the season 2-11 on the road, we are now 7-3 in our last 10 road games. Still not a great 9-14, but it's at least closer to .500!
5-1 road trip so far. Already clinched a winning road trip. Now let's take it to the Royals!

Oli in the clubhouse after the game ...
'Great job , guys ! Beat a good team 2 of 3 to win this series .
I have a game ball to hand out tonight. It goes to the only pitcher in this leauge that could give up 7 runs in 4 innings and leave the game giving his team a 2 run lead ! Let's hear it for Sonny , guys !

Players howl as Sonny catches the ball Oli flips to him .
Oh the fun you can have when you win the series.

Fantastic work by the Cardinal bullpen tonight - after Gray allowed 7 runs, the 5 relievers went 5.1 shutout innings!!

Was out.
Only got home in time to watch the ninth.
Nice bounce back win after tough earlier 2-1 loss.
Series win!
BTW....Philadelphia fans are a complete joke! LOL

...and...that's a WINNAH...! That first game was just a warmup for the main event, and the Cards really delivered...! The 14 runs scored by the Redbirds are the most allowed all season by the Phillies, previous high was 11, twice, last time May 4th against the Snakes. Phillies starter Nola took the loss, and now 1-7, for the worst start to a season in his career. Phillies getting very nervous about him and his remaining 5-year contract, and owing him more than 120 million over the remainder of that signing.
The Cards, on the other hand scored 14 runs, the most in a game so far this season. Previous high was 12 against Boston Red Sox on April 2nd. Player of the game was Alec Burleson who went 3-for-5, with a HR and a couple of singles, driving in 4 RBI's. Starter Sonny Gray was ineffective, allowing 8 hits and 7 runs in 3 2/3 innings. Roycroft relieved in the 4th inning, and got the win.
Happy flight on the travel day tomorrow to Kansas City, to start a 2-game series there. Cards are 5-1 on this road trip, with 2 games to go.

Yes, Jesus saves the game 3-1 tonight, and the Cardinals are now just 1 game behind the small bears.

Cards are 1 game back of the Cubs for the division and 1 game back of the Giants for the final Wild Card spot. This season got interesting in a hurry.

Thought of a comeback for Sonny Gray after getting the 'game ball ' ribbing him.
Sonny says , ' Thanks, guys ! I want to give credit to Dusty tonight for he told me . Hey, let these guys have a couple runs early so our offense can get fired up and start hitting better . So I did ! Only thing is when I came in the dugout at end of 1st allowing 5 runs , Dusty said I said a 'couple' runs , Sonny ! NOT 5 of them !

You offensive players did a fine job chipping away early , so good in fact I decided to give up a couple more runs (7 ! ) just to keep you scoring for the rest of the game. The planned worked perfectly !
