Too many holes in our lineup to win on a consistent basis. Thank goodness for teams like the Guardians.

Wasted another good start from Pallante. Other than a dud versus KC, he's pitched well this season for a 4th or 5th starter.

Who do you replace a .290 with? What's your plan? Curious.

Pirates get their chance at a SF and don’t screw it up. Must be nice.

Runs please. Five or six would be nice.

Cards had 3 chances with a runner on 3B and less than 2 outs. Failed 3 of 3 times.

Masyn Winn strikes out swinging
Alec Burleson lines into a double play
Pedro Pagés strikes out swinging.

Pirates had 2 chances with a runner on 3B and less than 2 outs. Failed 1 of 2 times.

Henry Davis out on a sacrifice fly to center fielder Victor Scott II. Ke'Bryan Hayes scores.
Spencer Horwitz pops out softly.

For this, the Pirates will be awarded the victory... unless the Cards can rally in the 9th.

Bad luck for Maton, those hits in the 8th were not hit hard.

Maton loaded the bed. Offense, base running, 1st base defense all stunk. Pallante was very good. Situational hitting non existent.

We are seriously short on offense, Guardian like.

That’s not on Maton. Those were lucky (donkey) bloops that fell in. Happens sometimes.

Don't need any outs on the base paths right now.
