Absolutely
JJ has been ridden like rented horse and is worn down. He should have been rested more.

More than 3 out was a bridge too far to expect Gastulum to not turn into a gas can.

All you can do is shake your head.

who can argue with that?

Could Oli get optioned to the minors? He could easily be replaced by a cigar store Indian.

Oli pushing his luck by leaving Gastelum in for the 2nd inning.

...Herrera swings at 1st pitch, a low inside strike, but grounds out to end the inning. That's a easy pitch for a LH batter to drive it out of the park, but not so much for a RH batter...
Swinging at the 1st pitch after a walk, particularly with a batters' advantage (LH pitcher, RH batter) is not a good strategy. Probably will get a better pitch to swing at later in the count...

Watching Cards hitters....like Herrera... hit with RISP always makes me wonder exactly WHAT they talk about with the hitting coach????
I don't get it either. Everybody else isn't aggressive enough and sees two fat strikes before striking out/tapping out, unless the bases are loaded/RISP and they swing at the first piece of junk that comes by.

I say again, we do not hate Brant Brown enough.

does Vlad, Jr. not want to play baseball anymore? Or is he hurt? He should've scored easily on that

Yes. Stewart has 23 HR and 84 RBI with an OPS of .811, plus he has been on fire in his last 7 games: .333/.429/.583.
JJ is the superior fielder at a more difficult position, but that won't matter if he doesn't start hitting like he did prior to the AS game. Right now I believe Stewart is ahead of JJ for ROY.
