Buch has not been the same player since the failed attempt at center. It’s night and day. He used to be a shoot first forward and now he has a shoot last mentality. He will not shoot unless there is absolutely no other option. There is no fixing this team if Montgomery refuses to remove Buch from the top line.
Really? We are going to single out one player for that game? Good grief.

Do not waste any more time with this group of trash. Blow it up now. I’ve never seen a bigger grouping of cowards in my life.

Armstrong hasn’t built a hockey team. He’s built a Sunday morning ice ballet team. There’s maybe one or two players on this entire roster that has it in him to win a playoff series.

Hard reboot and stop wasting everyone’s time.

Buch is 100% the same player we traded for.

NYC fans grew tired of his disappearing act and traded him while he would still get something in return.

He’s the same player he’s always been. Streaky when hot and invisible the other 95% of the time

Been following the Blues in earnest since 1980.

Pathetic, absolutely pathetic performance tonight. 13 shots on goal. No heart. No commitment. No shame.

If Monty didn't have a 5 year deal, he'd be fired tonight, not that this is all his fault. But he ain't going anywhere.

The players have quit on him at times, including tonight. Can't imagine how frustrated he must be.

I'm stating the obvious here, but we are missing elite talent with strong character.

And you generally don't find those players outside the top 5 in the draft. Sometimes but not often.

IMO this is a lost season because even if we make the playoffs, we aren't going far. So might as well play the young guys and see how they fare. If we lose night after night after night, so be it. Get those guys experience and see what they're made of. And maybe we get a high pick at the same time. We need it.

We can only hope that several of the hyped prospects turn into elite players within 2-3 years.

Bottom line, wake me when the Boys start to compete again.

What? Where did I blame him for tonight? I made a comment on his overall play.

Our players that have the heart lack skill, our players that have skill lack the heart. A terrible mixture of personnel. Buch was a part of the problem as were almost everyone else. Buch has been terrible for a long time. Like others he can’t pass accurately, can’t accept a pass. This is the worst passing team I have ever seen since beginning to watch the NHL in 1967.

You don’t build a team around Pavel Buchnevich. NYR couldn’t be more desperate to get him out of town.

The fact that the Blues consider their core Buchnevich, Thomas and Kyrou tells you all you need to know about this organization. They’re getting what they deserve.

Looks like injuries will ensure the tank. They need to move Schenn and Faulk and just roll with the young guys. I like what I see from Stenberg. The young guys at least give you a reason to keep watching. If they get a top 3 pick they will get an excellent player.

This is the draft to pick high for sure.

Lots of high end talent available

Thomas got twisted up with an Avs player (their legs)along the offensive zone boards. Thomas seemed to twist his right ankle. That’s what the injury looked like.

I wanted to compliment something. Dvorsky had a lucky looking shot but maybe it was skilled. At least he knew to throw it on the net, like he should do on every power-play.
What was also encouraging was Berggren screening the goaltender intentionally and Stenberg also going in front of the net looking for a possible deflection had the shot missed.
That is what the team is missing.. needing to go toward the net and having players ready in front to go after the rebounds

Sunny and Torop got regular shifts...why???? Normally this is the type of game people get fired and players get traded, but not this team and not this ownership...what an embarrassment.

Did you watch the game? The top-6 were horrible, especially the first half of the first period. Who do you think was leaving Avs wide open all over the offensive zone? Check the box score.

You'd literally think they have holes in their sticks at times. I'm not exaggerating when I say I've seen high school teams make and accept passes better than the Blues did tonight. It was pathetic.

Good post Russdv14. I was thinking the same thing. When was the last time that we had one Blue, let alone two Blues players, trying to screen the goalie? Maybe on a man advantage at times, but even that is very rare. Also, besides being a very non-physical team, we have to have one of the least talented passing teams in Blues history! Tape to tape about every 5th pass, maybe! Pathetic...
