So why with a 3 run lead didn't the Cards have Scott II attempt to steal 2nd in the entire Barrero at bat ?
If Barerro makes an out , you have Noot coming to bat with Victor on 2nd .. a single scores Scott 95% of the time.
It didn't come to fruition with Noot's fly ball out but it would have looked stupid to me to have Noot getting a base hit and Scott doesn't score a run for the Cards. It was time to play aggressive and add more insurance.
I'm the last guy to defend Oli but perhaps Scott just couldn't get a read or didn't feel "right". Never know when a guy who plays everyday is nursing something.
If that’s the case, then he has trouble reading pitchers a lot since reaching the Majors. Didn’t have that trouble in the minors though.
It’s not just Scott, though, Oli loves playing it safe.
Can you imagine him being the Manager in the 80’s? He’s a joke!

I don’t mind Barrero but would rather see Saggese getting those AB’s
Barrero is a better bench player and offers value at more positions defensively --- Saggese may still be part of the future so if you bring him up he needs to play more often than Barrero has.
Saggese could:
-Play 3rdB one game a week to spell NADO, one game a week at SS to spell Winn, one game a week at 2B and another at DH.
