Brewers leading Seattle 3-0, top 6
About to have sole possession of 1st place if they hold on. Good for them
Do they ever lose? WTF????
the Brewers know how to 1) Draft, 2)Scout the Latin Markets, 3) Develop both. They are a fabulously ran organization right now.
their draft philosophy is quite chaotic, they don't sign all of their draftees, but they get quite a few HS players to sign each year. They gamble, and develop them very well
It's hard not to admire what they do Duce!
Whatever voodoo the Cards once had, the Brewers now possess it in full. Their starting pitching might be the best in MLB. 1-4 all with a sub 3.5 ERA and all their scrappy teams have to do is stay in a game and they continuously find a way. And now, of course, they have Woodruff back pitching like he's a 3x Cy Young winner.
I have no admiration of them, however. They completely fall on their face every time they make the postseason, indicating their regular-season runs are somehow filled with hot air, or, dare I say, illusion.
They are basically the Tampa Bay of the NL

This guy is getting moved.
Keep him. He's (drat) good but brings nothing back. Gotta keep some guys...
You can probably get a decent return for Maton from a contending team that needs bullpen arms. Dude has been lights out this year. I'd trade him.
If you trade Helsley, somebody must resemble a closer. He's closest to that. Still gotta field a MLB team.
If the Cards are selling, I don't care who is the closer for the last couple months. Give Graceffo, O'Brien, or some other minor league arm a shot.
Not for the rest of the year. You still must think about next year. It's great to sell and get back some prospects but St Louis must be able to field a team next year also.
I'm thinking about next year. I'd be very careful before locking a guy like Maton in long term. Relievers are so up and down. I'm not saying give him away, but if someone is offering a nice deal, I'd send him packing.

Maton will not pull much of a return. The only reliever that will bring anything back is Helsley.
