Should replace Fedde and Mikolas with Matz and McGreevy.

3 straight games being shut out. Today they give up 7 homers. Can’t get more than 1 hit against a pitcher with an ERA over 5 this month. This team is [shirt]. I hope Mozeliak’s wife is banging Oli on the side…Mo deserves it.

Why do folks torture themselves and expect much from this team. Its a 3rd place possibly 4th place by end of the season team. As it's constructed today. I stopped watching games about 3 years ago. Gave up season tickets after 23 years this season. Don't miss it at all. I do check the standings about twice a week. My delusional family members text post game scores almost every game. Until MLB gets a real salary cap I am not that interested in baseball. Played into college but really just dont care anymore. Not having Cardinals results impact my mood for over 10 years now has been liberating.

As they did 2 seasons ago at the deadline they’ll start with the pending FA’s.todd-parker wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 14:56 pm Can I raise a practical question at this point? Are the Cards gonna be buyers at the trade deadline?
Any they don’t intend to attempt to resign should be moved.
Helsley probably the biggest decision of the bunch.
I like Matz but health is always a question.
Then there of course is Arenado.
Gray? Contreras?
I think they stay.
I’d put Nootbaar in a package before his value slips to nothing.
They have some position player depth to deal from.

Embarrassing.
Bastards ran this franchise into the ground.

I may start a political thread to put me out of my misery.

Just returned home after being gone since 1 pm .. Got a call from a friend that said I missed the fireworks .. I replied , 'Really , don't they shoot them off AFTER the game ? Buddy replied , ' Nope , today at Wrigley the 'fireworks' were in the first three innings .. 6 bombs !
Guess that's what I get for going outdoors today . rats !

You're confusing quantity with quality.Cusecards wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 15:20 pmAs they did 2 seasons ago at the deadline they’ll start with the pending FA’s.todd-parker wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 14:56 pm Can I raise a practical question at this point? Are the Cards gonna be buyers at the trade deadline?

This organization has done that for years.

I was watching the Apple broadcast and had to turn the sound down as they were having orgasms over the wonderful cubs. Did not help. Another observation was the Cardinals have a propensity for swinging at anything and giving the pitcher help. They refuse to take a walk for the most part, and get themselves out.
Miles wasn't very good, even with the sound down. As I watched I never saw him make the batter move his feet even one time. It was like he was a friendly batting practice pitcher who wanted to see a home run derby by the other guys.
Another observation was that letting Gorman hit in that situation was stupid, Oli played into Counsell's grubby hands. Pozo was the play there, if he had any intention of maybe getting back in the game. I think he gave up after the first inning.
I think calls for Mikolas release are a bit premature, as some of the many home runs were wind aided, not one by Armstrong and one by Busch, those were legit. But I would put Miles in a mop up role, not pitch him anymore when there was a chance at winning.
That is just me trying to swallow my anger that I saw. I made it till the Gorman strikeout and I had to shut the thing off.

The question was about the types of moves they might make?11WSChamps wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 15:22 pmYou're confusing quantity with quality.Cusecards wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 15:20 pmAs they did 2 seasons ago at the deadline they’ll start with the pending FA’s.todd-parker wrote: ↑04 Jul 2025 14:56 pm Can I raise a practical question at this point?
