Oh, good Red. So they looked like a Major League team today? Guess when they lose they're a AAA team and when they take 2 out of 3 from the Dodgers they "really looked good". It's like a yoyo.
Check the standings.
I do, Red, every day. There are roughly the same about of ML teams with a worse record than the Cardinals, as there are those with a better record. Which means they're an average ML team, not a AAA team.
Boy, this really bothers you for some reason, doesn’t it?
Yes, rat, when someone calls my favorite team a “AAA” team when 1/2 of the major league teams have worse records, the faulty logic rubs me the wrong way. And then compounds it by saying my favorite team may not be better than all the teams with worse records. It obviously bothers another poster too. Why aren’t you addressing that other poster too?
Cranny you need your own forum where no one can have an opinion different than yours.
Terrific, Red. First, you tell me not to tell others how to post - then tell me how to post. Now you even suggest that I find another forum. You're a real piece of work.

Well, Goldfan, there's a well known expression that says "A player has learned all they're going to learn at AAA, and now they've graduated and it's time to get their feet wet at the major league level". What you're saying is like telling a person who just graduated from college that they need to go back to school because they're still an undergraduate.

It’s still fascinating to me that you’re more upset that a poster called the Cardinals an AAA team than you are at the people who put the Cardinals into a position that would make posters feel that they’re an AAA team.

Peak years for a major leaguer? 27-29 years old. Don't give up on players too soon.

You’ll hamstring a team with a RF prospect for years who is hitting

So just simply starting the season with 2 better SP's than Mikolas and Fedde could have put the Cards in much better position currently, and I'd guess somewhere in the 10 over .500 range, which might be on the conservative side. Just using a couple ex Card SP's as an example like Wacha and Quintana, not world beaters but more competitive SP's than Miko and Fedde might have made a big difference.
The current position players put the Cards in pretty good position imo, with Wetherholt, hopefully a healthier full time Herrera and Crooks helping next year. Cards aren't that far away from being decent, and even currently are much better than a AAA team.
Add 1 decent SP before next year, and thinking the Cards can be competitive, with Doyle possibly helping at some point next year.
That said, why get upset about what others might think? Just passionate fans being disappointed with the season.

Red - You and your tag team troll partner (who specially refers to me as Baghdad Bob against the rules, even after he’s been warned by the mods), make a clownish pair. Why don’t you provide some value like JDW did in his recent post on this thread?
Aren’t you capable of talking in an informed, detailed, and reasonable way about baseball and the Cardinals? Enough of the insults.

I don’t really have a problem with giving Walker another year. But he’s got to play EVERY day. He should get a day off every two weeks the rest of the year, but that’s IT. Next year, he’s your guy, sink or swim, but that’s it. You cannot hold onto this guy until he’s 27 to see if he figures it out.

BUT — in order to give him enough “runway,” gotta clear the logjam. To me Nootbaar is the one who should move. He’s 27 and hasn’t figured out how to stay on the field, let alone be a productive starter.

lol 27-29 isn’t magical years for a player there are a lot of players that age that suck and if you suck you aren’t going to magically get good just because you turn 27. True Good players usually peak and have their best years at those ages but players that suck guess what they also suck during those years

You’re right, Ozziesfan, but you never know how good they can be unless they have time to adjust and mature at the major league level.

Jordan Walker had 27 games at the A level, 55 games at the High A level, 129 games at the AA level and only 118 games at the AAA level. That’s smokin’
fast for a high school kid. Some people seem to forget that. They want him to produce “now”, but he needs a tad bit more runway.
