Re: GDT: Blues at Nucks 6:30 FanDuel
I thought Texier had a strong game, he made passes for 2 scoring chances, great back check in the 3rd while not taking a penalty. He can maintain puck possession along the boards better than most of the other Blues players. I thought he played well last game as well and also made some smart passes.
Kyrou I thought played his best overall game. He was really digging to get pucks back. First two games he had more scoring chances but still had that habit of letting the other player take the puck and then he tries to get it back instead of going for it. Last night I didn't see that. Hope he continues to improve his two way game.
I also thought Mailloux had a decent game, just needs to keep playing and improving. I think its smart to play him and Tucker with veterans vs each other.

Texier had one of his better games as a Blue last night in my opinionFrank Barone wrote: ↑14 Oct 2025 07:57 amYes very nice play by Tex. Joseph also playing very well first three games.
Re: GDT: Blues at Nucks 6:30 FanDuel
I do agree he played well. I like how he was used, 9 minutes on the 4th line. He seems to be a burst player, gets lost when asked to do too much in a game, and the 4th is more about simply playing North with energy and less about synergizing with skilled linemates.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑14 Oct 2025 08:51 amTexier had one of his better games as a Blue last night in my opinionFrank Barone wrote: ↑14 Oct 2025 07:57 amYes very nice play by Tex. A few quick notes:
1) The Blues are officially 2-0 going 6-5 and are +1 in gf/ga in that situation.
2) I had mentioned having Mailloux and Tucker together was a bit of a mistake, and now that they've been switched up they both have seen improvement in their game.
3) The scoring won't be an issue this year. We have 3 lines that can create offense on most shifts, and as we saw last night can maintain possession in the offensive zone for long periods of time. The only thing will be the special teams.
4) If we can get the goaltending of Binner and Hofer the past two night for 70 games this year the playoffs are a lock only question will be what position.
5) Bring on Chicago

Yea it looks like he'll never be able to be play a lot of minutes, but he made the most of his time on ice last night. Was noticeable in a good way.DawgDad wrote: ↑14 Oct 2025 09:13 amI do agree he played well. I like how he was used, 9 minutes on the 4th line. Chicago wont be a pushover they looked pretty good yesterday they are inching up. Blues gotta keep hounding pucks, keep it simple with an element of chaos. We need to start hearing from Kyrou, Buch and Holloway.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑14 Oct 2025 10:22 am A few quick notes:

Wasn't expecting them to be as young teams tend to come out of the gate full of confidence. That starts to wane as the season goes on and the L's start to pile up.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑14 Oct 2025 11:16 amChicago wont be a pushover they looked pretty good yesterday they are inching up. Kyrou has been playing well, has been hitting, and got an assist yesterday, but yes needs to be getting his name on the goal sheet.
Buch has been extremely streaky the past few seasons so he's likely one of those as soon as he pots one he'll pot 8 in 10.
Holloway might be 15-20 games before he takes off as he is likely sub-consciously worried about re-injury.

Kyrou was awful in the first fifteen minutes, and then he got hungry. I have no idea what is wrong with Holloway. Why is he not hitting like he did last year? That was a big part of his game and his mojo. I agree, Jack Burton, that the injury sounded awful. It MUST be the reason for his lack of reckless abandon.
Texier is a delight to watch when he is protecting the puck. Totally poised and strong as hell on his stick. So graceful and athletic. I thought that simplifying his game would be a good idea when he was announced on the fourth line. They were almost as good as the first line. The third line is rockin' and the Second line is stumbling.
The First line is suffocating to play against, and I believe they are finding their offensive chances.
Good work Monty.
