I was just explaining what happened to someone who missed the play. I told him that my son's little league team practices this play to steal a run, and they also practice against teams who attempt it. That was so [fork]ing unbelievably awful. I instantly turned the game off it was so embarrassing and frustrating.
Yes it is a play that I have seen succeed a lot at youth baseball level, but this is the BIG LEAGUES, Contreras should have known better....

Cubs bring in lefty to face Pages and Hampson because they know they are awful. They really bring him in to face Donovan. Sheez.

...Yep...Cleveland and Pittsburgh lining up their rotations now to accomodate the Cards. May even bring up some triple-A leftys if necessary. And we'll certainly see these 2 Cubs lefthanders next weekend also...

The Cardinals desperately need a power RH bat in the OF. Walker has flunked to date.

Yet we came into today a .500 team vs LHP's. Same as the Cubs and T-11th best in baseball. Teams like Dodgers and Phillies worse than us. Cleveland is 7-15 vs LHP, perhaps we should be doing the same for them.
