No need to send him down. Oli is employing his strategy of only pitching 8 innings per game on the road. Saves the bullpen.

Just when you think Noot can't get worse, he hits into 2 outs with 1 swing.

Really need to sit Nootbar a few days but with Donovan hurting and Walker on rehab not a lot of options.

At least your Oli bashing is creative. Finding fault with the manager for a players bad decision.Lightning Rod wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 20:43 pmWouldn't it be nice if we had a manager that said it was stupid? Instead he'll say he likes the aggressiveness.![]()

...I think I phrased the question to CoPilot as a pitcher getting the win. But, rereading T-P's question, that is not what he asked... My bad... Still pretty rare for a MLB pitcher to retire after pitching in a game and not giving up any hits...Quincy Varnish wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 20:49 pm1915 guy pitched 3 innings in the majors, no hits, no walkscbcloud wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 20:36 pmInteresting question... 2004, 3.2 IP, 0 hits, but 5 BB

There’s a bunch of other guys that went 1 or 2 IP with no hits

Got 3 hits in inning without a run.
Cost us a run.
Would be our luck to come back and lose 6-5 now.
Like the 10-9where Roycroft gave gift run wild pitch.

Plus any manager that would call a player stupid in front of the public is a pretty poor manager.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 20:45 pmlol Contreras doesn’t need to be told it was stupid the look on his face showed he knew it was stupidLightning Rod wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 20:43 pmWouldn't it be nice if we had a manager that said it was stupid? It was a dumb play but this game has a look to it that says we aren't coming back. We look deflated.ramfandan wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 21:00 pmGot 3 hits in inning without a run.

Sometimes you need a manager that's willing to call out your "stars" for sheer stupidity or they will continue to do as they please. If Vlade did that on his own would he pat him on the back? I think not.Bob Kunush wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 20:58 pmAt least your Oli bashing is creative. For a pitcher that’s there to pitch, obviously yes. Most of the players with 0 hits allowed were position players pitching in blowouts.cbcloud wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025 20:59 pm...I think I phrased the question to CoPilot as a pitcher getting the win. Typical of the Cardinals against a first time pitcher. Seems this has been their long-time history. Not sure how or why, but they always make these guys look good.

One consolation.....I doubt WC does that again anytime soon?
Game was a lost cause anyway!

Not a small sample size either. If I were another organization, I'd be calling up every rookie and lefty starter I could when facing the Cards. It seems to work a very large percentage of the time.
