well .. that went from 'hoping for a comeback' to 'planning what to do on the off day' quite quickly.

Bummer ... baseball ...

More good news: Cubs 4, Deads 0, one down top of the five.

Dang if this bullpen goes south so will the record. Too many close games to withstand a mediocre bullpen. With some of the hitters cooling off only going to put more pressure on those guys as every game may be lowscoring late.

Seriously? Did you not understand the pitcher-hitter matchup or recognize POZO and Pages are not LH hitters
I did notice that, but I would PH Pozo over Gorman anyway because I think Pozo has had more success in a PH role.

Need to work the deadline deals. The recent run of good games may have been an optical illusion. They are way ahead of the pace I predicted though, so you never know.

Everything old Oli tried to do turned to doo doo today. The quality of the bench and back end of the bullpen is quite disturbing.

i didn't have an issue with who pinch hit for whom --- not sure any of that really mattered today, my only fault for the olipad was using matz in what was realistically an unwinnable game. i give the ball to munoz in the bottom of the 8th and say its all yours big boy.... if Mo is gonna put him in the pen you can't hide him you have to use him and make the FO make a move.

Look at the bright side .. The Cards were on the road and won one of the games. Unless the Phillies get 2 runs in the bottom of 9th, they will get swept all 3 games by the Brewers and Philly is the home team this weekend.

Today would be the Brewers 4th come from behind win in their 7 game winning streak , if they hold on in the 9th.
PS Brewers scored in top of 9th just now ... 5-2 Brewers still batting

5-2, as de La Cruz hits a two-run homer in top of six.
