We need another leftie that can get lefties out, so we don't have to rely on Leahy all the time.

Would have been great to steal the Skubal start though.Get them tomorrow though!

Very winnable game goes into the loss column. Different loss than it started out like. Didn't give up at least.

We already have 3 LHP’s in the bullpen. How many do we need?BMoreCardsFan wrote: ↑20 May 2025 21:06 pm We need another leftie that can get lefties out, so we don't have to rely on Leahy all the time.

That felt like one we were going to come back and win, but just wasn't Leahy's night. Would be nice to beat up on their bullpen tomorrow.

Last year this game was over in the third inning

Down 4 .. nice comeback.
Sonny was down 5 once and they won that game.
This team has no quit..chips away

OK King/Romero needs to step up thenFuturegm2 wrote: ↑20 May 2025 21:07 pmWe already have 3 LHP’s in the bullpen. How many do we need?BMoreCardsFan wrote: ↑20 May 2025 21:06 pm We need another leftie that can get lefties out, so we don't have to rely on Leahy all the time.

Romero has been much better of late (8 straight scoreless outings), but he had pitched the previous 2 games.BMoreCardsFan wrote: ↑20 May 2025 21:13 pmOK King/Romero needs to step up thenFuturegm2 wrote: ↑20 May 2025 21:07 pmWe already have 3 LHP’s in the bullpen. No problem that I know of..
You could pitch Helsley in 9th to try to keep it at 4
But if it goes to 10th tied 4-4
Then you have Leahy with a runner on 2 nd to start the 10th
Re: GDT : Cards vs. Tigers (5/20) ~ 6:45pm CDT
Well he doesn't have to overuse Leahy, this is Oli's weakness.
Leahy has pitched great, but Oli wants to milk the same tit too much.

I will point out that Most MLB managers use their closer in top of 9th inning at Home.BMoreCardsFan wrote: ↑20 May 2025 21:13 pmOK King/Romero needs to step up thenFuturegm2 wrote: ↑20 May 2025 21:07 pmWe already have 3 LHP’s in the bullpen. But Oli hasn't grasped the concept on when to properly use the closer.

Oli Marmol gets fixated on certain bullpen guys and rides them too long.
Gotta bring Helsley in to start the ninth inning at Home.
That was a very winnable game with proper bullpen management
Momentum favored Cards until Leahy pitched ninth which was Helsley lane
