Why didn’t oli challenge it? Even the announcers thought he was
Because Oli is clueless
He should have been out on the grass the second they called him out

Shortest distance between two points is a straight line, Saggesse should've just dove over the pile up and he'd have been safe instead of stutter stepping and arcing around them.
With just an ounce of effort Saggesse could have played hop-scotch and leaped over the pile to score. But no...I'll pussyfoot around them instead.

1. Fielder's Right of Way on Batted Balls:
General Rule:
On a batted ball, fielders have the right to field the ball, and runners must avoid them.
Runner's Responsibility:
Runners must avoid a fielder who is in the act of fielding a batted ball, even if it means running outside the baseline.
Deflection:
If a ball deflects off a fielder, the fielder retains the right of way as long as the ball remains within their immediate reach.
Obstruction:
A fielder cannot block a runner's path to a base unless they are in the act of fielding a batted ball or are in possession of the ball.
2. Runner's Right of Way at Other Times:
General Rule: At times other than on a batted ball, runners have the right of way and fielders cannot impede their progress to a base.
Interference: If a fielder obstructs a runner's path to a base without being in the act of fielding a batted ball or possessing the ball, it's considered interference, and the runner is awarded at least one base.
Base Blocking: A fielder cannot block access to a base without possession of the ball.

I could have sworn he was wearing a tutu there.
Needed a Donovan type who would've just hurled over the pile and landed face first on home plate.

Did I just hear a lame "right field sucks" cheer briefly? Man, must be a slow day in Pittsburgh.

I don't for sure know the MLB rules on interference, but I'm a high school umpire.
I would say Saggesse was being careful to not run into a protected fielder there on the pop up. Which is correct of him. Once the ball falls, I don't think those fielders are protected any longer. But I'm not totally sure about that.

sagesse can't argue his path was blocked? and why did he stop? You can't touch the ball but you can run into a fielder and advance.
This isn't remotely close to accurate. If he made contact with the fielder while they're trying to field the ball, it's runner interference and he's called out. The play from him here, is to get home while avoiding contact, instead of just prancing around panicking. Go around, jump over, anything would have been better than what he did outside of running into the fielder.
If I were his manager I'd seriously demand the cost of a front-row ticket, because instead of being a base runner there, that's what he was, spectator.
F'n idiot. I sure hope they win because if not, you blew a no-hit performance from your starter until your manager, once again, pulled him too early. And that should have been an easy run.

If we go to extras, Burleson is your Ghost Runner in the 10th. You would assume Siani will PR, Baker PH's for someone else...unless they move Donnie to 1B, which he can do, he has the 1Bglove in the locker.
Edit ~ this might be for naught.... Ryan "this ain't 2024" Fernandez on the mound....>WHITE FLAG
