Fewer people at game means less booing of DeTwit and Mo-ran!

To sell a product you need a great gregarious front person. MO Ran?? Not in million years. DimWallet & family - never. Marmot - please !! So who is going to sell the Cardinal product to Cardinal fans???
And doing a (bleep) poor job of it based on the attendance this far.
This is a reach, even for you.
For many on here over the years, fight in the late innings has been important. Shows resilience. Guess you missed that, rat.

They’re not Little Leaguers. They don’t get partial credit for almost winning, resilience and all that. It’s a pass/fail system — you win the game or you lost.Cranny wrote: ↑02 Apr 2025 11:33 amdesertrat23 wrote: ↑02 Apr 2025 08:46 am“Come on, kids! Let’s go get in the car! Re: Attendance
You seriously don't have any idea about the game, do you, rat? Were you ever on a team, learning about good and bad things that happen in a game? Things like attitude pickups, attitude letdowns, resilience, momentum, team dynamics, etc. Trying to talk to you about anything involving the game is truly a waste of time.desertrat23 wrote: ↑02 Apr 2025 12:47 pmThey’re not Little Leaguers. Re: Attendance
I understand all this, and I understand that you have this schtick going where you feel a need to rationalize or justify everything that goes on with the Cardinals, their ownership, and their front office. And optimism isn't a bad thing. But a turd can only be polished so much -- if they blow a game like they have the past two nights, the ultimate result is "they lost." It's not "they learned a lot and they're becoming more resilient." The results are ultimately what matter, and if you don't believe me, ask them. Despite what you may think of me, there's a lot to like in this organization. There are a lot of young players who have a very bright future and the overall strategy of reinvesting in the minor leagues and player development is a sound one, even though it's embarrassingly overdue. But it's really not necessary to try to spin EVERYTHING positively -- we've all watched this team long enough to know better.Cranny wrote: ↑02 Apr 2025 14:06 pmYou seriously don't have any idea about the game, do you, rat? Re: Attendance
I don't "justify" anything. I just enjoy watching the Cardinals. If they come from behind and the bullpen blows it, I don't fault the offense. I notice and appreciate the resilience. Because I know it's a "never give up" sign. Which will bode well if the bullpen tightens up.desertrat23 wrote: ↑02 Apr 2025 14:50 pmI understand all this, and I understand that you have this schtick going where you feel a need to rationalize or justify everything that goes on with the Cardinals, their ownership, and their front office. I know the weather was threating. But it reminded me of my youth when my dad took to Browns games.
Re: Attendance
While I understand your point, there have to be expectations early on and before the season started for fans to get tickets, arrange transportation or lodging, etc. These stats show great improvement over last season, but this is after the fact and not in place to motivate people to attend.Cranny wrote: ↑02 Apr 2025 08:13 am C - Herrera / .962 OPS

3B - Arenado / 1.035 OPS
LF - Nootbaar / 1.297 OPS
CF - Scott / .910 OPS
RF - Walker / 1.172 OPS
Team ranks 7th in MLB in runs scored. 5th in team OPS. All position starters are under control for multiple years.
Re: Attendance
It's kinda sad. I think STL fans have to be real with themselves and realize STL is just as fair weather as any other city at this point. Fans have every right to do what they want to with their money, I know it's expensive to take my family so we don't do it often. But I'm not pretending that I'm sending some kind of message that is going to matter to ownership by not going. They're not gonna start spending like the Dodgers anytime soon. I want my kids to enjoy baseball so I do love the opportunity to get some cheap tickets from time to time on the secondary markets.
