At that point the T-Birds had been shut out for the first five periods of the series and trailed in game two 3-0 while being outshot 30-14 after 40 minutes. A shorty in the first minute of the third gave hope and they had numerous chances to get another one while pumping 20 shots in the final period. But it all came down to a frantic, desperate push down two and pulling the goalie with 3:42 left in the game. 6 on 5 magic (parent club take note) from Dillon Dube who sent it to overtime with not one but two lightning bolts. The onslaught continued in OT with the T-Birds holding a 11-4 shot advantage. I really can't remember any game at any level where a switch was flipped harder than tonight's game. Was a sight to behold.
I would love to have heard Otter's second intermission address as well. I reckon it was similar to the pregame speech he gave before game two of the first series, after they had been embarrassed 8-1 in the opener.
