Hard to tell who is who. Jiricek had a nice step up hit to keep the puck in the zone for a real nice chance by Peterson. Stancl had a turnover and then drew a penalty setting up the breakout.

...and there's Jiricek turning it over at the blue line for a breakaway goal to go down 0-2 with 12min left.

Tough pass to handle, but he should've done better.

I like Jericek. Dang and I was typing he gets beaten..
He’s physical and gets in on the offense.

Springfield is pretty outclassed here a lot of missed passes fumbled pucks. They had a few nice chances but couldn't find the back of the net so far. Lindstein would help a bit more and Gauthier is out. Looked like Jiricek tried to feel and had his pocket picked? All in all he's looked pretty good after 5 AHL periods

Does he look bad ? Defensively? Why ?

i was going to make the same observation he was pretty quiet last night but the Penguins check well with speed they were all over the Tbirds. Its 2 AHL games no need to make any determinations yet but i could see both kids starting in the A

I haven't watched the games, but that is a big jump from the OHL to the AHL. Most players take a little time to adjust. They don't want to make mistakes. Walking into playoffs is another level. At the end of the day this is the experience you want them to have regardless of where they start next year.

Yep 100% true its a big step up in speed, size and skill. The game is coming at Jiricek and Carbonneau fast. Jiricek though he had a second to make a cute deek at the blue line but he got poke checked. These are the lessons he'll learn im sure Ott and co. reviewed this post game with him. Otherwise he's been pretty good. Carbonneau had more of that deer-in-the-headlights look at least last night. In any case this will give all the young guys a taste this will really help their offseason training now that they have seen a bit of pro hockey
