I, for one, jumped the gun on Baez. The need for LF help was part of the reason. But, obviously, Baez needs more time to try to cut down on the Ks.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑11 May 2026 15:50 pm+1 it’s a good thing bloom didn’t skipkyace wrote: ↑11 May 2026 15:07 pm People need to hold their horses on Baez. At this point Church and Fermin are better options.
Hope Baez makes the adjustment soon are he is likely to drop out of top 10 prospects.
Him to the majors like Goldfan others wanted or call him up after he hit a couple of home runs like they wanted it would have been brutal

I often wonder how long some of you have been watching MLB. You seem oblivious to the process of calling up prospects, seeing if they can handle it, and sending back down if they can’t. Been going on for decades. But NOW here in STL when they’re starting outfielders who are hitting .150, .175,…..haven’t had hits in weeks. THOSE options are argued as a BETTER option than the prospect who almost definitely would perform better.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑11 May 2026 15:50 pm+1 it’s a good thing bloom didn’t skipkyace wrote: ↑11 May 2026 15:07 pm People need to hold their horses on Baez. EVEN if you only get the 7-10 day hot new rush of adrenaline streak…..at least you get that until Noot is back on the field. When did AAA OF prospects become such fragile china only should we think about calling up when the stars are aligned??

Well most people that have watched baseball for a long time know that if a guy is struggling to make contact and hit in the minors its highly unlikely they will miraculously startGoldfan wrote: ↑11 May 2026 16:38 pmI often wonder how long some of you have been watching MLB. Hitting major league pitching. But you dont believe that you believe in the mo method of calling them up before they are ready letting them suck then sending them back down over and over again which is fine for you to believe even if it is dumb its just surprising after being anti mo
For so long you suddenly buy into his tried and failed player development methods. It’s good to see you now do a .180 on mo

All three play positions of need for the current team. If they were ready they could certainly help in a pennant drive. Is that clearer for you?RamFan08NY wrote: ↑11 May 2026 16:30 pmGood grief Shady. Ex- I’m high on Baez so I’m anxious to want to see him come up.
But....I put my trust in Bloom and the organization to best know WHEN it is the RIGHT time!
What kills is me when “certain” posters whine and complain and act like THEY KNOW what is best?
And WHY do they want them promoted? Because they are BORED and mentally weak.

I wouldn’t be opposed to bringing a player up if they are performing well at the current level. Right now Torres, Crooks and Jordan deserve the call up more than Baez. Walker was much better than Baez in the minors and he struggled. I believe Baez can be a good major league player but likely not a big time star but who knows at this point. He needs more time to adjust and improve. His swing seems long to me from the games I’ve watched. But if he can hit just a little he can be a 20/20 player and possibly better with good defense.

Oh same here for the first time in a long time I have faith in the organization and I trust bloom. I liked everything he’s done so far. The one thing I did really disagree with bloom on was valazquez not making the team and I was 100% wrong on that one. But I should have known I would be wrong because I agreed with goldfan on it and if you agree with goldfan you will be wrong 99% of the time lolCusecards wrote: ↑11 May 2026 18:37 pmOz....I often have the temptation to WANT to see a player in the bigs.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑11 May 2026 15:50 pm+1 it’s a good thing bloom didn’t skipkyace wrote: ↑11 May 2026 15:07 pm People need to hold their horses on Baez. I'm agreeing with you. I really don't think there's much chance any of those guys get called up. They made the decisions who they were going to give long looks to when they set the opening day roster and that’s what they're doing. Noot will get his shot in left field and Scott will be the 4th outfielder. My big question continues to be what they do with May, JoJo, O'Brien, and Noot if we keep winning. If they were losing at the rate most thought they would, and if they hit a rough patch and start losing lots of games, those guys would be available.WeeVikes wrote: ↑11 May 2026 12:49 pm As odd as it may sound, if it would help in the long term, I'd be ok with leaving those three in the minors and sacrificing a run this year for sustained, long-term success in the future. I know one shouldn't turn down a shot at the post season, and it would be a tough thing to do, however, if it's better overall, I could accept it. I want a team that is a sustained, long-term contender for the WS. I don't want the "hope we get in and anything can happen" approach any longer.

Well, I hope we get a chance to see what Bloom does with those four if we’re winning. Even if we’re winning, I don’t think we’re yet strong enough to be the team I’d ultimately like to see. It’s a tough spot, but I’ll take it.

I know what the Brewers would do. But that's not saying it's right for StLouis. If fan interest would start snowballing, selling would be a gutsy move.
