Walking the first guy and playing for the DP with the GB guy seems sound. Absolut gives some numbers. Assuming no match-up issues I'd do the same.

The major fault of the inning lies with Graceffo (not a rookie) for letting Tatis escape after getting him in a 1-2 hole. If you're playing for a grounder or a K throw the guy a strike.

I don’t like the extra inning rules if you are going to automatically put a man on second. It gives a huge advantage to home team batting second.

Certainly the same advantage applies to football but in that case they at least flip a coin to see who gets the ball first.

Why not do that in baseball. Flip a coin and winner chooses batting first or second. You can justify it because both teams have played to a tie. Visiting team should not be punished by home field advantage since they played nine and home team did not take advantage of being home.
