If we can find a dance partner, I believe it makes the most sense to trade #15 and #31 to jump to #7-#9, which is Seattle, Winnipeg and Florida. Although this is a fair trade, I might sweeten it to entice a partner with one of our defense prospects like Ralph or Fischer, or offense prospects Stancl or Perakcik. That's pretty good value for the team that we trade with. We need to make this deal so we can grab a center and defenseman.

Belshetz seems like a grown man dominating via kids. This bothers me.

He is done growing and the others aren’t.

Am I wrong here? I’m sure he is great and competitive but this bothers me.

It’s something to consider for sure. He can’t help it he’s a 6’5” 225 lb man-child playing against kids but it is fair to evaluate him based on that size advantage. That size advantage is going to shrink in the pros but he’ll still be huge even by NHL standards. But it does make me question his runway a bit in terms of what his top end potential could be. He put up just over a pt/game while having a huge size advantage.

Size is very useful in the NHL but sometimes teams get enamored with size and the player really isn’t all that good once everyone else grows and catches up a bit. I don’t think Belchetz will be a complete bust but I do think his hockey sense is going to limit him some.
