I’d pretty easily have Korotky in our top-10. He just had a very good season in the KHL for a 19/20 year old. It’s the sort of statistical profile you’d expect from a recently drafted late 1st to 2nd round pick. He’s legit. Compared to Buchelnikov, Korotky scored more pts in fewer games, is more than 2 years younger, is bigger and plays C whereas Buchelnikov is a winger.
If considering Snuggerud and Dvorsky as both graduated (which I would, especially Snuggy), then the Blues prospect pool looks a little weaker…at least for a couple more months before we add some more talent in late June.

4. Lindstein
Solid development so far, solid chances of making the NHL in some capacity:

Expect a handful of these guys to not even be affiliated with the Blues in a few months. For example, both Romanov and Zherenko are pending Group-6 UFAs. But we’ll need an AHL goalie or two so maybe they try to re-sign one of them.

Pekarcik needs some more seasoning and hoping he can turn it around next year and make a push or show some level of advancement/progress.
Hoping Stancl can show the same.

Yeah, both Pekarcik and Stancl got a real awakening of what pro hockey is all about this season. Both were about on par with what I expected of them this season, maybe a little under par of what I was expecting from Stancl. I know some were really touting those 2 and putting them at or near the same level as our top guys but I just didn’t see it that way. That said, they do have the potential to be NHLers. Just need to keep grinding away and making small improvements. That’s what Kaskimaki has done over his 2 years in Springfield and I’d wager he’s a legit threat to earn a role with the Blues next season. Not a needle mover but you need those depth guys too.
I never liked Jecho tbh. He’s big but also the definition of hockey dumb. Still though, I expected him to do better than this season as a 19 yr old playing Jrs. The Blues signed him a while ago so I guess we’ll see how he does with the T-birds/Everblades next season.
Agree on Harenstam. He has skills, vision and swagger. He’s “only” 6’2”, which isn’t overly tall for a goalie but it’s tall enough. Binner is 6’2”. He’s currently playing with the Swedish Nat’l team (not U20, the big boys) and is doing well. My guess is he earns his way to making Sweden’s World Championships team. Probably just as the 3rd string guy but as a teenager one year from being a mid-round pick, that’s fantastic growth and an accomplishment to be proud of.

I’d like to see Stancl add some speed to his game. Several plays I’ve seen him just miss a pass or getting to a loose puck by 1/2 a step.
I thought Pekarcik had a decent season considering he’s used mostly on the 4th line. He finished with 35 pts as a rookie on the 4th line compared to Kaskimaki who finished with 45 points playing on the 1st line and has been on the 1st PP line unit for months and that unit plays about 2/3 of the PP time.
