Sounds about right, but ask that question again in 3 months regarding JJW. Minor league hitting doesn't always translate to MLB hitting.
Wonder how Rodriguez would be in the same scenario?
rodriguez is extemely young. It can only benefit him to spend a significant amount of additional time in the minor league levels
Fully agree, but would add that it is also highly beneficial for him to spend as much time as possible right now with major league players and seeing some major league pitchers.
It is kind of the same with Joshua Baez. Obviously, he would benefit from some experience at AAA. However, he needs to go up against some quality MLB pitchers in spring training.

Bloom would trade Burly in a NY minute for a good outfield prospect.

Wrong. Gorman or one of the surplus of catchers maybe. Why trade away Burleson. At the present, the most productive hitter on the team at 27? Imagine this current lineup without Burleson in it. Please try to use more common sense.

for the right offer everyone on this roster is tradeable --- save maybe winn and weatherholt....but even they should be available just for a borderline crazy price.

You might be right on either Winn or Wetherholt. Not both. But I prefer keeping that middle infield tandem in place for at least the next five seasons.

It is too soon to know who the top hitters are.

You claim to be a former hitting coach. What do think of Burleson as a hitter?

did you ever watch heaven can wait with warren beatty?? its fiction but in the movie warren beatty's character offers 250% of the value of the rams --- the old owner while in tears can't believe he paid that for his rams that he absolutely didn't want to sell. if someone blows away your own perceived value of a can't touch player, don't you have to listen and likely make the deal?

Burleson is 1/3 of a baseball player. Trade him for a whole player. See what happens when he isn't cheap any more. He gone.

What realistic deal would you trade either Winn or Wetherholt for, right now?

I claim to be an ex-expert. As I noted in one of my posts, most of the experts I have met didn't know much at all. Burleson is too vertical or upright. He needs to make the changes that the videos show Walker is attempting. However, as a former hitting coach, I would have to see whether Burleson is failing before I would suggest any changes. Take anything I saw with more than a grain of salt.

Burleson is a really good MLB hitter. But I kind of agree. He could use a little more knee bend. It might help him deliver more power.

not my job and not my area of knowledge or expertise -- i don't know what other teams have that they would trade for either, i am just suggesting the cardinals have to have an internal notion of their worth and what they would listen to and might accept in any trade.

JJ hasn’t done anything to think he will last 5 years.
