Sagesse fans might not want to think about it but there’s a high pro at that he starts in the minors.
The signing of Ramon Urias for a guaranteed $2 million doesn’t help his cause.
It would probably serve everyone better if he starts at AAA and plays everyday until there’s an injury.

Saggese and Baez will determine if Velaquez makes the roster.
Baez won't be on it. (No matter how well he might do)
I suspect you are correct.
Possible he makes it, but highly unlikely.
Regardless, the closer he looks to being ready - even if that means an August or September audition - the less fit for Velaquez in the team's plan.
With the addition of Urias, does that signal Saggese may get a good look in LF? How's an outfield of Saggese LF, Church CF and Walker RF appeal to you?
I would hate that Outfield.
Of the current roster, what outfield would you prefer?

The Cardinals have stated Saggese will get a look in LF.
As for an outfield of Saggese, Church, and Walker - it holds neither appear nor alarm on my part.
I care about production, not projection.
The very best outfield option is fairly obvious: fire The Marmot and allow a competent manager to address it.
lol - already making excuses

Spring training games DO matter :-)

If Gorman repeats last year, I think I’d want Urias as the starting 3B over both Gorman, Fermin, and Sagesse.

I could see Church starting in one of those OF positions. Once Nootbar proves he's healthy, I could see the Cardinals moving him during the season.

I see Church starting in the Minors to get AB until needed. That’s just my opinion.
