Re: What is the MINIMUM ask for Binnington you'd take.
I heard Rivers talking on his afternoon radio show and he was saying that a mid round draft pick is all that the going rate for Binnington would be. He said that was just the price for goalies these days.
If all we could get for Binnington is a 4th round pick then I have no interest in moving him. Getting a 1st or a 2nd and a prospect has to be the minimum unless Binnington is just a salary dump.

mediocre nhl teams are a better competition than all but maybe 2 of his opponents. nhl gms arent dumb enough to weight a tournament vs a whole dample size of an nhl season. getting hot in the nhl season the last week before trade deadline would affect his valze more than his performance in this tourney would.dhsux wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 16:55 pmWattage JB is a Cup winner/4 Nations winner (high) and coming off a pretty poor first half of the year (low).Wattage wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 16:17 pmwe often dismiss good goalie performances vs weak nhl teams in the nhl, but we are lauding a guy vs a team made up of many okay nhl playwrs. bottom line nhl players, and nhl washouts? only canada itself, usa and russia are usually good enough to beat nhl teams most years.hockey jedi wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 15:03 pm Hey may not be worth a first, but that's my ask. I rather keep him and have him backup Hofer than take a second for him. He is showing us again that he rises to the occasion when it's a meaningful game. There are many technically sound goalies, but few have that characteristic to take their game to another level.
binny played well. but i think you heavily overrats what these games mean regarding trade valze. playwrs have been awesome internationally and sucked in fhe nhl.
binny has a stacked canada team behind him. i dont think this tournament should change his trade value no matter how he plays one way or anither
While I would agree he cannot drop much in value, I do not agree he cannot increase his value...even dramatically...on this huge stage.

We had better have the Minny deal contingent upon any deal. Edmonton is clamoring for Binnie. And then the Jesper deal plus more. SEA wants Kyrou and has the 4th overall choice Shane Wright, center, available for this trade. So Leery stop snoozing and git 'er done.

Sweden and Finland also have stacked rosters and other countries have star players. Plus everyone is psyched up for the Olympics in a way they aren’t for a random Tuesday nhl game in Calgary. Winning gold on the biggest stage would go a long way for Binnington’s trade value.Wattage wrote: ↑14 Feb 2026 09:08 ammediocre nhl teams are a better competition than all but maybe 2 of his opponents. nhl gms arent dumb enough to weight a tournament vs a whole dample size of an nhl season. getting hot in the nhl season the last week before trade deadline would affect his valze more than his performance in this tourney would.dhsux wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 16:55 pmWattage JB is a Cup winner/4 Nations winner (high) and coming off a pretty poor first half of the year (low).Wattage wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 16:17 pmwe often dismiss good goalie performances vs weak nhl teams in the nhl, but we are lauding a guy vs a team made up of many okay nhl playwrs. bottom line nhl players, and nhl washouts? only canada itself, usa and russia are usually good enough to beat nhl teams most years.hockey jedi wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 15:03 pm Hey may not be worth a first, but that's my ask. Sounds like Army is using Rivs to help drum up more bidders.Whatashame wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 22:00 pm I heard Rivers talking on his afternoon radio show and he was saying that a mid round draft pick is all that the going rate for Binnington would be. Im perfectly happy keeping Binner if I cant get a 1st, or 2nd amd decent prospect.

I have no idea if he's even going to start in game 2 none-the-less win game 2.Wattage wrote: ↑14 Feb 2026 09:08 ammediocre nhl teams are a better competition than all but maybe 2 of his opponents. nhl gms arent dumb enough to weight a tournament vs a whole dample size of an nhl season. getting hot in the nhl season the last week before trade deadline would affect his valze more than his performance in this tourney would.dhsux wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 16:55 pmWattage JB is a Cup winner/4 Nations winner (high) and coming off a pretty poor first half of the year (low).Wattage wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 16:17 pmwe often dismiss good goalie performances vs weak nhl teams in the nhl, but we are lauding a guy vs a team made up of many okay nhl playwrs. bottom line nhl players, and nhl washouts? only canada itself, usa and russia are usually good enough to beat nhl teams most years.hockey jedi wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026 15:03 pm Hey may not be worth a first, but that's my ask. But to say if he runs the table and wins Gold it means nothing to his value.......I'm glad I'm not the one saying it.
Re: What is the MINIMUM ask for Binnington you'd take.
All it takes is one team to believe Big Game Binner is the difference.

I'm glad none of us are. But yes, we can hold him for another year and either pay him to stay and be a part timer or just become a free agent too.

You know you might be right about "part timer".clemonsonroots wrote: ↑15 Feb 2026 17:17 pmI'm glad none of us are. But yes, we can hold him for another year and either pay him to stay and be a part timer or just become a free agent too.
And then again you may well be dead wrong.

Good luck. Kyrou has a no trade clause and Binnington has a 14 team no trade list.MrPostman01 wrote: ↑14 Feb 2026 09:35 am We had better have the Minny deal contingent upon any deal. The Blues should ask for what they gave up when they acquired Ryan Miller 12 years ago.
