I hate what they've done.
What they're doing now is immaterial.
What they're doing now is immaterial.

Would pay money to see you come out of the pen ! Like your passion and that's what the fans want . Yes, hit the strike zone pitch after pitch ..right down the gut .. no balls only strikes ! What is your velo ? Don't care if they crush 5 homers in a row off your strikes, we just want to see a strike thrower for a change. None of these lame walks .earp wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026 08:59 am “I’ll tell ya what, folks… this bullpen’s givin’ me more gray hair than a doubleheader in August. I mean, good gracious, partner — you hand these fellas a three‑run lead and they treat it like it’s a hot potato. BOOM — walk, walk, double, and suddenly I’m lookin’ for the antacids.
You can’t be doin’ that! Not in THIS ballpark, not in THIS town. These Cardinal fans know their baseball. They’ve seen Gibson, they’ve seen Sutter, they’ve seen Izzy slam the door like he was lockin’ up the family hardware store. And now we got fellas out there pitchin’ like they’re tryin’ to win a raffle instead of a ballgame.
I’m tellin’ ya, if they don’t start throwin’ strikes, I’m gonna march down there myself and show ’em how to do it. And I haven’t thrown a baseball since the Reagan administration. But I guarantee ya I’d at least hit the strike zone!
Mercy! This bullpen’s gonna put me in early retirement — and I’m already retired!”---------? WHO ?
Sounds like Whitey to me:)earp wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026 08:59 am “I’ll tell ya what, folks… this bullpen’s givin’ me more gray hair than a doubleheader in August. I would add.. My feelings exactly.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026 09:02 am I don't dislike what they are doing. I question how they are doing it. They have no choice with the tv deal crashing but it doesn't appear to me they are getting adequate return.
Which players the club has traded are worthy of a top three prospect?Hoosier59 wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026 10:04 amMy feelings exactly.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026 09:02 am I don't dislike what they are doing. No pitching prospect they’ve acquired has even been in that organization’s top three pitching prospects! Bloom has settled in every deal made so far, because other teams know his hands are tied, and has been told to tear it all down. It’s hard to get the best deals when you have to deal under those conditions!
Precisely. Garbage in, garbage out.45s wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026 10:07 amWhich players the club has traded are worthy of a top three prospect?Hoosier59 wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026 10:04 amMy feelings exactly.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026 09:02 am I don't dislike what they are doing. I didn’t say a “ top 3 prospect “ I said each team’s top 3 “ pitching prospects. There is a difference, you know? Also, did you even read the rest of the post?45s wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026 10:07 amWhich players the club has traded are worthy of a top three prospect?Hoosier59 wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026 10:04 amMy feelings exactly.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026 09:02 am I don't dislike what they are doing. I also didn’t say, that alone, any one traded could have gotten one, but instead of making individual moves that only netted lottery types, you put players together for one guy that is more likely to succeed.
That’s not true either!Jeff Goldblum wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026 10:13 amPrecisely. I highly doubt that Gms make trades based on the rankings on mlb.com.Hoosier59 wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026 11:24 amThat’s not true either!Jeff Goldblum wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026 10:13 amPrecisely. MLB rated both Contreras and Donovan in the top ten at their positions! That’s not garbage. Sonny Gray isn’t a #1 starter anymore, but he’s still a solid pitcher. He just had an unrealistic contract that Mo signed him to.
Dewitt wanted the payroll reduced and other teams knew it and took advantage of Bloom because he had little choices!
Donovan.45s wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026 10:07 amWhich players the club has traded are worthy of a top three prospect?Hoosier59 wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026 10:04 amMy feelings exactly.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑06 Feb 2026 09:02 am I don't dislike what they are doing.
