I totally believe Detroit would want him. I was wondering if Utah might be a fit. I would love to have Tij Inginla on the Blues. I think Thomas is a great player and prefer to keep him. However, I think the Blues will be playing meaningless hockey for another couple of years while our players develop. If we do trade him, I'd rather trade him to the East.

Agreed!callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 17:52 pmThere's a massive problem with trading Faulk, Thomas, Parayko specifically. Faulk, your replacement is 2-3 years away. Reality needs to set in that the team needs more juice in the pipeline and the window isn't opening any time soon. Other teams won't have a problem jettison vets for decent returns that aren't unrealistic asks and benefit from it down the road.

Still having our own 4th, we took (if you can believe it) Stancl
He reportedly attempted to trade Krug for Sanheim, but Krug blocked it.
I believe Faulk will be dealt just like Stastny was. Only thing is he still has another year, so while that's good for value, it may not necessarily be what some teams want, and doesn't fit Army's history of last year of deal TDL dumps.
Parayko, EVEN BIGGER problem than Faulk. He leads the league in blocking shots, and he's your best defender. Broberg can't do it by himself. You going to trade Parayko and Faulk. Good Fing Luck fielding a hockey team. All of your forwards will want to cut bait and won't want to be here and broberg will be demanding a trade.
Thomas, who is playing behind him? He's a top 15 Center in the league over the last couple seasons. Happens to be having an injury ridden down year. Who was the last guy on this hockey club who was a PPG guy in back to back seasons? His name was buchy and he did it in his first 2 seasons.
I bring all that up, because you should be looking to stand pat for those 3 guys. Unless the offer is so wildly high, you can actually maneuver around it and grow next year, you can't make the trade. That being said, if someone wants to offer a Mo Seider for a Parayko, because they decide vet now and win now is more important, guess what you got my attention. But who in the world is doing that level of trade? Faulk like I have been saying gets traded next year if the team isn't competitive.
You are looking to trade schenn/kyrou/buchy/suter/joseph/sunny/bjug. And for all but the top 3 you aren't getting 1st and most likely 2nds. So your only doing it to make way for other players. if you are trading the top 3 guys, you are doing it for younger guys because according to the ownership, they don't want to sit here and us burn thru years when we have talent right now with Broberg/Hollywood/Thomas/Snuggy/Dvorsky/Neighbours/Hofer. The team has too many young guys that are ready to make a solid run that blowing it up means a 10 year rebuild.

If you trade Thomas you’re basically committing to trading everyone over 25 and rebuilding from scratch. I’d be surprised if they did that.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 17:52 pmThere's a massive problem with trading Faulk, Thomas, Parayko specifically. Faulk, your replacement is 2-3 years away. But you absolutely have to trade Faulk at the deadline. He’s having the best season he’s had in a few years and his value is at its peak right now. Trade him at the deadline for the best deal you can get. He’s going to turn back into a pumpkin by next season (or sooner).
Re: Rumored ask for Thomas
The day after you trade a player like Robert Thomas, you’re looking for a player like Robert Thomas.

That's exactly what he should be asking for at minimumUnfathomable wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 15:28 pm I'd say it's a pretty safe bet he sticks around..
Nick Kypreos: Re Robert Thomas: The price is astronomical, in the vicinity of something equivalent to three top-15 first-round picks. [Armstrong's] looking for cache in prospects and picks.

Re: Rumored ask for Thomas
I think that's what it would take to move him. And in no way should we be looking to move him. That why there's Nothing wrong with army asking that much.
Thomas will be a needed piece if wwe are able to open the window back up.
Here's the thing. Iam betting Army is asking way to much for everything. Including those we should be needing to trade, asap.
I don't think army wants to move those that need to be. I think if Schenn wanted to retire a Blue. He has it. Schenn has been a loyal locker room bug and has earned that right.
Also Management wants and leadership thinks they can do some damage if they get in the playoffs.
Same ole, same ole.

I have no issues if Schenn staying but they do need to move one of Kyrou, Thomas, Buch before next season. Thomas I think it’d be smart to keep for another year unless offered a package he can’t refuse.
Faulk needs to be traded and possibly some of Sunny, Suter, Joseph and Nick Bjugstad before the TDL.

Re: Rumored ask for Thomas
The idea that selling means gifting is a little ridiculous. People think the Blues should gift their best for nachos and a beer. The complaints that Thomas is a #2 on a top team is just a poor argument. The NHL lists Thomas as a top 20 Center. Yes, he is a #2 behind Connor McDavid. This should surprise no one as Leon Draisaitl is a #2 behind Connor McDavid. The asking price Army is looking for IS for a top 20 center. It would be double, or more, if we were trading MacKinnon, McDavid, Draisaitl. An injured Jack Eichel got Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs, a 2022 first-round, and a 2023 second-round pick. It isn’t unreasonable to get something slightly less for Thomas. No major career ending surgery risk and given Thomas should be no less impactful. This is going to be a trade that hurts. Thomas will be improved by an improved supporting cast. We need to accept Thomas is likely going to break 100 points somewhere else.

Id keep Schenn, Sunny, Suter and Bjugstad. The Blues dont have a lot of center depth, toughness or leadership and those guys bring all thatBluesfan1978 wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 07:15 am I have no issues if Schenn staying but they do need to move one of Kyrou, Thomas, Buch before next season. Under normal circumstances I’d agree with you. But, if MTL thinks RT is the missing piece they just might.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 08:36 amI dont think they will move both Hage and Reinbacher in the same deal
Not saying they do or don’t think he is the missing piece but if they think RT could help end the Canada cup drought then yeah, I bet they’d do just about anything to get him.
