I have been saying largely the same thing after each of the past 4 seasons: Either trade him while his value is still inflated by those who foolishly believe he can withstand the rigors of being a starter, or move him to the bullpen.
Regrettably, the team did not follow my sage advice and now his value is a small fraction of what it once was.

Tink Hence's next steps should be filled with caution as he might injure himself. The guy is as fragile as Tinkerbell through no fault of his own. So anyone thinking that he can succeed long enough at anything that involves moving his right arm at high velocity is kidding himself.
Starters who move to the bullpen usually do so for endurance and stamina reasons, not because of durability issues. While relief pitchers may only pitch an inning or two, they’re expected to pitch 3-4 times a week, at max effort and with less prep time than that of a starter. What says ANYTHING about Hence that suggests he could withstand the rigors of the bullpen? Hence is a victim of the love affair with maximum effort velocity. Sad thing is, he has the stuff to be a PITCHER. Instead, his career crashed
on the altar of velocity.
