The Pirates pitching will be pretty good, but their lineup will just be meh. I see a lot of 3-2 wins and 4-3 losses.

If the Cards end up bottom three, what's the most likely draft slot in 2027? Good chance at top three pick?
They might wind up with top 3 chips in the lottery bowl but, who knows where they would draft.

Over. This team, as of now, doesn't look much worse than last years team.
They've lost their #1 starter and (arguably) their best position player, and have added exactly (*checks the headlines*) nothing to the MLB roster.
Figure in Arenado, and that's 5+ WAR out the door. That would seem worse.

That "#1starter" was bad last year it's not like they're replacing Tarik Skubal.

IF the Cards are involved in a trade, I'm hopeful of a CB pick being
involved in this years draft.

The great hitter had just 20 hrs and 80 rbi and arenado sucks. The rotation will be better than last season that will give them the over on it

I didn't say Gray was good, I said he was the #1 on this team. Could someone on the current roster do better 3.29 FIP over 180 IP? Yes.
Will they do better? Let's be honest. Even if Liberatore has a breakout season, how big is the difference going to be between him and the next guy? You're still significantly worse off than last year.
And hey, that's the price of rebuilding. Maybe Bloom could go out and acquire some Lance Lynn-style journeyman to eat innings, but I don't get the feeling that's in the future (and I don't think it should be). So we should prepare ourselves for how ugly this could get.

I didn't say "great." I said he was the best on this team. Could he be replaced? Sure. Will he be? Not so far. And it doesn't seem like that's a priority.

The entire rotation was a** last year it's not inconceivable the 26 rotation could be better than the 25 rotation.

Arguably his best season in counting stats.
A season that Burleson debatably bettered in counting stats in
his 4-season career in 2024.
I'd mention a couple players who I think will exceed WC high water of 219 TB
in 2026 but not ready to jinx them yet. 1 has done it twice. Another did it once.
2 if they get PA's should surpass it. The theory is if they get those PA's they
stopped failing.

They have a chance to be a bottom-3 offense and I am guessing the pitching staff delivers a combined ERA of 4.75-5.00. So, yeah, I think 70 is about right.
