He could be used when they play Syracuse's zone as they did in the second half against OU. He would primarily just have to take up space with his wingspan at the 5.

Re: Quit babying and smothering Trent Burns
I made a point of watching Burns closely in his limited playing time on Saturday. Sigh. I withdraw my earlier protestation and concede the points you all are making. I thought he had looked more promising earlier. But those who pointed out his hesitancy and weakness are right. I only wish that Gates would not even place him far from the basket. The singular promise he may have is to become stronger and more aggressive and own the paint.

What's laughable is your ignorance.straight out of st louis robert ave wrote: ↑25 Jan 2026 20:30 pm Burns is 7 '5 and he simply can't jump.
I saw him going for a rebound and his feet literally never left the floor.
It was laughable.
Tell us what the vertical jump was for Shawn Bradley and Manute Bol.

He has to physically get to the point where he can hold his place on the floor in the paint. He cannot withstand even a hint of physical play. I doubt a guy with his physique is ever going to be a capable big man against guys with muscle.
