I honestly can't see Suter being traded till the deadline, but I for one hope he stays. I like what he brings. A great 3rd line center and a decent option even as a 2nd in a pinch. I can't see Schenn being the problem but I feel he is gone either way. I'm a Bennie apologist but I'm not sure he can be traded as bad as he has been most of this year. If he goes to Milan and shines then someone might pick him up for a decent return. Otherwise he is a solid backup until he plays better. Thomas and Parayko pose a problem in a different way. In my opinion, either would bring a significant return but would leave a massive hole in the lineup. The moment they are traded, we are searching for their replacement. In the current marketplace that will be difficult. At the rising salary structure it will be impossible. That leaves Kyrou. I'm sure there will be takers. He is a past 35+ goal scorer on a reasonable cap hit that will look great as time goes by. I just don't think we will get a great return for him. Deadline deals are coming. The offseason will likely bring bigger change though. Just my opinion.

Next year? Schenn and Faulk will be gone at the deadline, and Buch too if they can find a taker. I would be the most surprised poster on the forum if they finish the season with the Blues. However, we need to have some veteran leadership on the team, and I don't think that will come from Thomas and Kyrou. Maybe Parayko and Fowler are the leadership faces of the Blues. We may have a ton of first and second year NHLers next year.Nublues69 wrote: ↑14 Jan 2026 09:59 ami think next year we part ways with kyrou, schenn, faulk. The Average Gatsby wrote: ↑14 Jan 2026 09:11 am Blues are going to have to make some decisions soon. Re: Otto Stenberg rookie scoring
Surprised some here think Suter will be traded.
He's been a great value player in a key position and not blocking anyone? and at 29 can still grow with this team.
Stenberg needs to stay up here and not just for the reps he's been solid.... fast and the prospect we all looked for.

Yeah, I am with you. You can never have enough centers, but if the right deal comes along. Suter does have trade value and we were fortunate to get him over other teams. Maybe he drops to 3C when Schenn gets traded.dhsux wrote: ↑14 Jan 2026 14:17 pm Surprised some here think Suter will be traded.

I just don't see the moves a lot of people are wanting to make come to fruitiion. Move Schenn? We have no leader that isn't maybe neighbours and you aren't passing the torch to him over Thomas Parayko Faulk while all in house. Move Faulk? Who the heck plays RHD? You already have a problem which is an OK problem but one you have to acknowledge relies on growth at RHD3. Move Suter? Well your weakest part of the whole ice now just got weaker. He's the only guy from the offseason pickups that when healthy was consistent in all facets of the game.dhsux wrote: ↑14 Jan 2026 14:17 pm Surprised some here think Suter will be traded.

The only guys that make sense with any return IMO are Kyrou/Joseph/Sunny and then looks seemingly to ditch Fabbri. All of those guys (i like sunny and joseph) can be replaced thru youth. This is talking about this season btw, not future.
Next year, Suter/ Schenn / Faulk become tradeable assets.

would be nice to get his brother and bring the stenberg brothers to st.louis.
Re: Otto Stenberg rookie scoring
If this year keeps going south, you trade Faulk while his value is sky high. You will probably get a first and a mid tier prospect or a high end prospect a little farther along and a later pick. Just my two cents.

Re: Otto Stenberg rookie scoring
Don't disagree really. There will be changes but how much and when are the real variables. Throw in the NTC's and some players will be harder to move (Kyrou and Buch), but not impossible. Everyone on this team should be considered trade fodder in the right deals. Some I would want a ton for but there is a sucker born every minute. I feel that this team needs to move on from the core as I mentioned. There is an issue somewhere there that just keeps coming back year to year. I would really like to hold onto the young pieces unless one of them goes in a significant upgrade somewhere else. As for that middle ground of players, most are useful. I like Suter a lot and am intrigued by Berggren and what he brings. This has been a disappointing year so far but I still feel that the future is bright.Galatians221jb1 wrote: ↑14 Jan 2026 11:44 amNeed to move Kyrou and Buch. I think you trade faulk and schenn at the deadline. Next season you hope suter has a healthier season to build up more value so you can move him depending in how the team looks.hockey jedi wrote: ↑14 Jan 2026 14:36 pmYeah, I am with you. If I had to bet a bunch of money on it I'd go with your take on all the trade talk over some of these other opinions on who's literally going to get moved out.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑14 Jan 2026 14:45 pmI just don't see the moves a lot of people are wanting to make come to fruitiion. I get why posters want some of these players traded but I'm for more interested in trade proposals that take into the account WHAT THE BLUES ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO DO with this team next year.
Some of the opinions here either border on or are actually proposing more of a tear down...certainly if you put multiple posts together....we have Schenn, Faulk, JK, Buch, Sunny, Suter, Bjuc and others getting the boot.
This just ain't happening in my eyes. Some may happen but even then the replacement players, to date unannounced, are not going to be a bunch of prospect rookies.
Re: Otto Stenberg rookie scoring
I am totally fin with that. I will say the reason i didnt mention buch is cause no one is taking that contract at least he is defensively liable.hockey jedi wrote: ↑14 Jan 2026 13:49 pmNext year?
