I don't know that he's not doing what he said he was going to do. It's not like he opted out of the contract and still got paid. I'm guessing the Angels approached him about it. And the front office would have stopped paying him a long time ago if they could.

Besides, we don’t know what he’s going through. Maybe he is really hurt and can’t get healthy? Or they just get old and not very good. And sometimes both. We see it happen all the time with players. Or maybe he has some personal or family issues that we don’t know about and his focus isn’t his job. Is it a bad thing if he was putting his family first? And besides, where are hearing all the negative stuff from? Rendon isn’t some big, flashy guy. He’s not out there talking (bleep), but there sure a lot out there from “league sources” or just take having media figures.
These guys are human. And again, owners wouldn’t hesitate to screw over a player and try to get out of paying them the second he starts to age or gets hurt. How many times do you see that in the NFL? So, if he is faking, he’s not doing anything his bosses wouldn’t do to him given the chance. So good for him.
