Getting close to turning this one off. This team sucks.
Re: GDT: Braggin Rights @ STL -- 7 -- FS1
Gates with his idiotic double teams in the paint leaves the 3 line unguarded ALL THE FREAKING TIME. What's wrong with him?
Re: GDT: Braggin Rights @ STL -- 7 -- FS1
These eastern euro pros all know how to shoot.
Re: GDT: Braggin Rights @ STL -- 7 -- FS1
Not all that many teams run a very structured offense anymore. The game is to have penetrators and three point shooters. The penetrators penetrate. If the defense stays on their man, the penetrator finishes or draws a foul. If the defense collapses on the penetrator, he's supposed to find the open man for a three. You use picks to try to get mismatches on the penetrators. Mizzou does all those things. The problem is that Mizzou's penetrators aren't all that great at passing out of the collapsing defense, and with Stone out, they don't have enough three point shooters to force the defense to stay home on their man. The other problem is that when Phillips is in, there is always a big man on defense that's close to the rim (guarding Phillips), which makes finishing at the rim more difficult for the penetrators.cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑22 Dec 2025 19:17 pm Why is Mizzou so incapable of running an offense? It's maddening.
You're seeing it this game with Boateng, Barrett, and Mack. They penetrate, the defense collapses, and they don't pass. All you have to do in this game, with Stone out, is stay on Crews and collapse on the penetrators.

until stone gets back, our offense is very limited. too many guys aren't scorers: Barrett, mack, boating, Phillips.

Gates can’t coach…or recruit. Where are our new guys? And Boateng lol.
Re: GDT: Braggin Rights @ STL -- 7 -- FS1
Tonight is the first loss of 3 in a row. Next will be Florida and Kentucky. They might beat Ole Miss, before Auburn schools them. Mizzou is very predictable.

A LOT of teams have to be looking at what Underwood has done with getting euro pros. I think it's awesome that so many hoodlums and their mom's won't be getting looks. Bring'em over and make it look like a euro league!

He can learn how to beat good teams from Drink.Lightning Rod wrote: ↑22 Dec 2025 19:42 pm Gates can’t coach…or recruit. Where are our new guys? And Boateng lol.

It's Eli's fault that Gates can't coach? He learned that by himself (or didn't learn).TheMajicMan wrote: ↑22 Dec 2025 19:48 pmHe can learn how to beat good teams from Drink.Lightning Rod wrote: ↑22 Dec 2025 19:42 pm Gates can’t coach…or recruit. Where are our new guys? And Boateng lol.

You pretty much summed it up. We’re short on talent at the moment. If you’re going to run a motion, drive and kick offense like Gates does, you have to have a lot of skill on the court. We don’t have enough against elite talent.Rvrartst wrote: ↑22 Dec 2025 19:41 pmNot all that many teams run a very structured offense anymore. The game is to have penetrators and three point shooters. This one is going to be tough even with Stojkovic out. Illini are just a lot better.
Re: GDT: Braggin Rights @ STL -- 7 -- FS1
This game is over already.
Re: GDT: Braggin Rights @ STL -- 7 -- FS1
Outrebounded, outshot, outcoached. Did I leave anything out?
Re: GDT: Braggin Rights @ STL -- 7 -- FS1
This will be a classic beatdown.
Re: GDT: Braggin Rights @ STL -- 7 -- FS1
we've given up trying to run an offense that gets the ball to Mitchell where he can score

Are we potentially one of the worst group of 5 teams in the country?
