Wouldn't it be fun for all of us fans if this guy was the catalyst to a turning point in the season plus it would make a few heads in here explode? Oh this is my Christmas wish!

Wouldn't that be sad if the Yzerplan went sideways because the gave one of their prized youngsters to Blues too early. Ya love to see it
Well you just keep watching buddy boy.

What say you?
I'll bet it's higher than the last Berggie to wear the blue note.

Well, all the "true fans" will say Berggren's doing nothing but holding back the future team's from winning a cup because now the Blues won't get that vaunted top-5 pick that is clearly the only path to success.

Despite the fact, you have to go all the way back to 2009 to find a Cup-winning team that had a player post 100 pts during the regular season. Malkin, btw, in 2009 with 113 pts.

Clearly shows while elite talent helps you get there, it in no way guarantees victory. So if Berggren helps fill the holes until the roster gets back to full strength I'm fine with it, and it'd be even better if he played so well and produced so much he stayed right where he was last night.

This probably is the nearest correct assessment. As deemphasized as he became in Detroit, my initial thought was we picked up a 15 goal guy. Here, he appears to have the upside you point out. A very nice get.

Everyone plays exciting, to the net hockey. When they first get here.

Then comes coaching and those players learn how to get it in deep, and pass it back to the point. They then turn into another defender, bad against the boards, or another bad contract.

But Buy in, and all

Which only proves the Blues' strategy of using all their Top 5 picks exclusively on defensemen...

Berggren's ceiling is south of all of Detroit's forwards. That's what waived means.

Berggren's ceiling may be north of all Blues forwards, or certainly Army's draft selections. That's what Army draft picks mean.
