What’s scary is Fabbri has 2 helpers in 2 games on the 4th line and hasn’t played in the NHL in 2 years. Maybe everyone overvalues the talent at forward on this team.

Playing on the 4th line usually gets you the easier matchups. Not saying that Bertuzzi's line last game was an easy one to handle as a defensive assignment, but there is a reason why they are a negative +/- as a group, and it's not because they don't produce offense. If he draws the top line, he'll draw the best defensive lines whenever the opposition can get it out there. And his production would drop with it.

Thats why it's important to have three lines rolling, you hope to outnumber the defensive assignments the opposition can throw at you. The challenge in that is the best forward combination we have when healthy left us leaking odd man rushes and high danger chances, and our goalies have across the entirety of the season not been good enough (Hofer right now is much better, Binnington still not where he needs to be).

If Holloway can't go, I'd like to see Kaskimaki Fabbri and Dvo comprise the 3rd line. It's a risky line because Kaskimaki while a good 2 way player/prospect is inexperienced, and the veteran of the line Fabbri isn't much of a two way guy, but it's VERY evident to me Sunny doesn't have the speed to cover the better players anymore so he can't elevate to the third line, and we don't seem interested in some of the longer term prospects coming up yet. Joseph is a great energy guy but he works better with Schenn so you just get Suter up there and keep the work boots mentality.

Might want to check your stats. He played 44 games for Anaheim last year. He has steadily had an NHL job until this season, but has never been able to stay healthy.

You need bodies especially if one of these injuries is long term.
we got 'bodies'.. need players

and if we need to fill a spot, I'd rather rotate guys in and out from the A.. give em at least a cup of coffee and see if someone shines
The Blues are down three of their top-6 forwards if Holloway cannot play, and another top-6 or top-9 center has zero goals and one assist at ES in 23 games. Got someone in mind who can help?
would rather see stenberg that reichel. and (bleep) shame dean isn't available.. would have been a good opportunity for him

And there were questions about his level of dedication to the physical therapy sessions and strength training during the off-season after the first surgery.
I was at the game when Fabbri got his first hat trick, down low close to the play. He was flat out awesome...made a Craig Janney-level behind the back pass off the boards to himself to then score a beautiful goal. His confidence and skill was fantastic. The future looked bright...and then he had the first bad knee injury during game a month or two later...he never really has been the same since.

Thought it was 2 years ago must’ve looked at it wrong. Either way he looks better than what we have it’s not saying much about the level of talent.

It doesn't say anything about the talent level.
Take 5 forwards off every roster and you would be left with pretty much the same thing.
Depth is one thing, but to have 5 guys deep in the minors and expect those guys to be really productive is next to impossible.
You need to be more realistic.
